Technique Specific Rods
the Powell rods are going to be a good choice. I would also suggest you take a look at the kistler magnesium ts rods. I have fished both rods in a 7' h and feel that they are very similar. Each has it's own feel and I would suggest you lay hands on the rods you are considering, one lenght and power could, and will, feel totally different than another in the same series of rods.

Deal or no deal?
You are basically getting the rod for free with that combo. The lightening rod is a pretty good rod to start out with or use as a backup. I would say it is a good deal for that price.

I have a few green pumpkin worms that have red tails because they sit beside my red shad worms in the box and every so often a tail will cross the border.

Just made my first jdm purchase....
It will make my second daiwa, the first is a Sol that I use for shallow cranks.

- When it rains, it pours...
Down here it's not been the rain but the friggin wind. Two tornados last month and 3 warnings this month.- Reel advice
I use a curado for both apps. The e7 doesn't see much action because I usually don't fish jigs from shore. My e5, however, sees a lot of action and is probably the best cranking reel I have used for medium - deep cranks. I also use a Daiwa Sol for shallow cranks and I love I for this application.- Just made my first jdm purchase....
Got a lightly used Daiwa Alphas 103 from eBay for $127. Pics show slight boat rash but was said to be perfect mechanically. So how do you think I did? Was thinking about putting it on a mojo, I like things to match as close as possible, 7'M for tubes.- took a step into the "dark side"
The e7 is a dandy worm/jig reel. I use mine on my flipping stick so she doesn't see much action.- question for quantum lovers
I have been fishing my code for about 2 years and am beginning to have problems with it. Before it started crapping out on me it was a good reel. Some say it's a loose reel but for the $79 I payed for it I was very pleased, true it doesn't feel as tight or sturdy as the PT series, but why would it, it's half the price, or at least it was when I got mine. For the longest time it was my only baitcaster and was fished pretty heavily when I got it...took a few trips into the lake and still ran good with cleaning and lubing. Now to my problem, when I reel and then stop, the spool keeps spinning and makes a clicking noise, not sure what this is or it is easily fixed. For the price they are going now, $129 at Wal-mart which is ridiculous, I would look into a Catalyst PT. Overall, I would recommend the Code at the $79 price range, I think they are $84 at TW.- Is it safe to use Quantum Hot Sauce on my Pfluger Trion.
Hot Sauce is formulated to be used on Quantums PT bearings. I personally wouldn't use it on anything that's not a Quantum.- Good, big, deep-diving crawdad pattern crank ???
I would say a Luhr Jensen Hot Lips, Poes Super Cedar 400+, Manns Go 2 20+, or even a Bomber Fat Free Shad BD7- which rod from tacklewarehouse
The Mojo's are on back order til July- IMO, IMHO...????? what the heck!!! someone help me, im lost.
IMHO in my humble opinion- Just got back from my honeymoon!
I'm a month into my marriage and that first week back to work after the honeymoon is terrible. Congrats.- 4" tru tungsten VS. BBZ 4"
Take what everyone has said about the TT 4'' and add swims on it's side and you've got a review of the REVOlution shad and bluegill. I like the TT 4'' baits but they are rather small and the paint job isn't very durable. They say to bend the pin slightly for a tighter fit although I have not had this problem yet. The Jackyll Giron is in the same price range and seems to be a good bait never fished one though.- new rod and reel setup, which line?
I wouldn't use braid on the tourney special just because I would worry about it grooving the guides. I have a 7'M and though it's a good rod, the guides aren't great. I would suggest you go with 10-12 lb P-Line CXX for all applications.- Is the USPS really that useless?
Yeah, the usps tracking system is pretty useless. I usually don't get a status until it's delivered. - When it rains, it pours...
