Early prespawn techniques
Personally, I'll spawn in temps as low as 40 degrees, but that's just me,lol However, I was only 3 in 1970 so I wasn't very active yet.

A Laugh for Football Fans...
A little much if you ask me. I think it was in San Diego this week, the winners from each area for the pass, kick, punt competition were being announced and the young teenage girl from new England got Boo'd. That's just too far. Much to the fans dismay, this has made her a media hit, given her 15 minutes of fame. She has been invited to the coin toss this weekend by Bob Kraft, lol. Aside from the good that came of it for her, the initial action is pretty sad, hate to say it. Cheer a kid on for cryin' out loud,....bunch of sore losers >

Mod Question
We work under a free reign teamwork setting. In short, we all cover everything. Some of us spend much more time in certain boards and some of us read every thread while others only read "most" but spend a lot of time behind the curtain chasing off bad guys, running maintenance on the site and doing other various things that needed to be handled routinely. This is not through assigned tasks, it's just naturally the way we have each fallen into our duties. If one of us will be away from the board for any amount of time, we notify the others so they can pick up on the things that that mod usually handles. All this stuff just "happens". That's the beauty of this team. Glenn does not give us any "Directions" but allows us free reign to just work together and get it done. The team formed out need. Each mod was chosen by Glenn as the need for a position was filled. Like every major decision involving the board, our input is asked for and always considered but the final decision is always Glenn's. In the case of the mods, something in the "hiring" process sure worked because we work as such a fluid team it's almost unnatural. We are all so very different but seem to fit into every gap via our "specialties" to keep the board clean, operating, organized and most of all, ....growing. Some of the guys will go into more detail but the way we do "what" we do isn't something structured rather than something nurtured. It's certainly a team family I am proud to be a member of.

Truck Liner
Another plus for carpeted deck. Stuff on floor stays dry!!!! The decks sit on top of the floor ribs. This keeps the deck off of the actual floor, allowing water from anchor, etc to flow around UNDER the decks. Stuff on top stays dry

CARPETED DECK Wood is $17 (3/8 cdx) if not free, pieces that size aren't too hard to find. Urethane- $6 Carpet $30 (less if not doing benches like in my boat) 3m 99 spray glue $9 If you don't have one, borrow a staple gun. Stainless staples-$6 So you're looking about $40-50 if you have to buy a staple gun (always handy to have) BEDLINER Bedliner- $30 for a quart (not enough for the multiple coats needed) $60 gallon. as for easier, you have to do the coats back to back w/ a 24 cure in between if doing it w/ a roller as opposed to paying a shop to spray it (even more expensive). So take the time involved (provided you get a good long weather window if boat is being done outside) plus the cost of materials and then look at the differences of the final product and it's a "no brainer". (Opinion of course)

Attention Tackle Makers
Cool stuff guys, keep 'em coming!

Truck Liner
Will cost about the same. Carpet is VERY easy, much quiter and nice on the feet in the summer. Carpeted decks or floor decks are the way to go. Do not carpet directly to the Alum, make floor decks. See my boat in THIS thread

Information for Rhode Island and surrounding area fisherman
One for your partner Give it a few yrs, Mine is all tattered and dirty. Coffee stained, burnt and soiled. It's a treasure. Look at the inside front coverpage, mine is a 5th printing, 2000. Yours? The book is still the same as the 4th printing though, if you look at the graphs and charts in the back, the actual survey dates are all from the 50's.

A SHOUT OUT OF THANK YOU TO FIREFIGHTERS ON THE BOARDS
growing up, we had 2 house fires,...yup 2. The firefighters saved our dogs each time. The first time, I pulled up to the house and the FF was on the front lawn w/ moms shitzhu, poking her chest with 2 fingers (the dog muddy,...... the dog), giving mouth to mouth and then pumping again.(yes Dom, still talking about the dog) She eventually responded and spent another 7 or 8 yrs with us before passing of old age. She was "different" after that but she was still with us. He is a friend of the family now. The station is right up the street from my parents house, every Christmas, mom brings them a big Lasagna. Now that they (mom n dad) spend winters in Fla, my brother continues the honor for her. One of the guys we got to know personally moved to south county. I found this out by delivering his cabela's order one day. I leave a card for him each yr so he remembers that WE remember. A thumbs up occupation filled by many thumbs up people. Thanks again guys.

BPS large 7+" Senko copy. Anybody use them???
Not something to over think, sometimes they want it slower, sometimes faster. Where, when and why really aren't discernible. It's just something you'll notice, a "common factor" among the fish you have put in the boat.

Saving screen shots?
Nope, that function was made for mods on other forums, it's not needed here. I have no need to be stealth, if anything, I would think that knowing a mod is watching is more of a deterrent. Either way, I don't use it;) I am sharing the computer right now, we are taking turns surfing
