  1. I would have thought you would be on the hard hunt for a fall feeding Momma. Great Sturgy though. Are these the same kind of sturgeon that produce caviar? (I'd like to leave this in this category for now till people have had a shot to view it, then it will be moving this to "other cspecies")
  2. Use your graph. You are looking for "ball shaped pods" of blackness. There are places where the baitfish will school up, creek channel bends, etc
  3. NATE!!!!!!! I just spoke with Brian and I got us both the day off if we want it. Intro video #2???
  4. Beautiful fish, great catchin' Randall!! (Any video?)
  5. We have a dock here in the Prov River where the Getty tanker used to unload. It's a closed dock now but we have a way to get by the fence. anyway, we made a long shaft net to get them up because there is nowhere to "walk" them to for unhooking. We simply use a radiator hose clamp (2 of them) to attach net handle to an aluminum pole (18 ft) that we use for digging clams. (one section of pole used for raking clams) Worked great but now I have a boat
  6. I'm built for speed, not comfort. Well, the only time I'll use a double hookset in freshwater is if I feel the initial one didn't sink the hook. There are a few in this video, I should probably take them out but those are from pulling fish from deeper grass. Misleading, I know. Sorry. It also widens the hole made by the hook, giving the fish an opportunity should he get the slack he needs.
  7. Jigs can be slightly different, depending on how they are hitting it. Subtler bites get more of a "pop" set. Like a snap set but with a "check" swing. When they are tagging it, it's just tough to miss no matter what you do,lol.
  8. Laggy- When you match the gear appropriately, the line size shouldn't matter. Many of those fish in the video were on 6lb test line.(the ones where I'm using the silver spidershaft rod). That's why you'll hear drag occasionally. I match the line with the power of the rod for the intended application, set the drag accordingly and let her rip.
  9. When you set the hook on baits like cranks or hard jerks, etc, baits with trebles or baits that are hit on the retrieve, you don't so much 'Stick it" quick and hard as much as just absorb the collision and maintain a steady pressure afterwards. This results in more of a "sweeping" or "side-arm" hookset, if any.
  10. Raul has a yard sale sometime in March I think,lol. ;D
  11. This year, it seemed many of the people I got to fish with all had 1 thing in common as far as what was holding them from progressing to that next level. Hooksets Upon observation, I notice that many people on the newer side to bass fishing tend to "UNDER do it" when it comes to setting the hook. You want a quick, snapping, hook driving hookset. Visualize your hook impaling the roof of a bony mouth. Too many fish are lost with a "Don't hurt 'em" hookset. I threw together a quick video of examples below. HOOKSETS
  12. Not fresh out of the truck, just avoiding the doghouse, lol.

  15. YUP! All Better!! Thank You Gentlemen.
  16. for some reason my videos are playing terribly. The picture gets stuck in some spots while the music keeps playing and then it catches up. I'm playing them directly from my computer, not downloading. I loaded an mpeg2 decoder recently but I'm pretty sure I've played a video since then. This is new as of today. I restarted twice, same thing still. Does this regardless if I call it up on real player or windows media player. Any help?
  17. Bud,....you operated the microwave for a living?? ;D Is that similar to a short order cook? ;D
  18. On a sidenote- You aren't fishing 40 degree water alone are you? Let's use our heads out there. As these water temps drop, the danger level rises. SAFETY FIRST!
  19. Even better, more bass vittles
  20. Welcome Aboard!
  21. Plus, remember that a bass will hit somthing that "appears" to be a catchable meal. It doesn't have to "relate" with the bait as an imitation of somthing he sees everyday. It just has to "relate" to the fact that it is alive, and moving slow enough to be caught.
  22. Nice catchin' Craw!
  23. Wow,...hit 2 mods with 1 stone,....talent.
