  1. 40 hrs a week when the water isn't frozen,....it's different, Bizz is from Cali where there is no closed season. No winter to chill out and then miss it a bit. No cabin fever and no feeling of being born again when the ice thaws. I would go nuts or get bored if we didn't get forced off for a few months. I totally understand Jay being burnt.
  2. No one's hating, just trying to help you avoid looking like "that guy", especially being an ABA director. Input is given for you to take or discard, it's what this section is about. We all need to remember that being sponsored all balances on how the public perceives you and the product you are representing. That's why this section is so helpful,....we ARE the public. Want to know what they'll think? Ask US,...we ARE them. I see your sig., but I don't see your point. I've Internationally represented for over 40 companies from Visa and Subaru all way to Snapple and Power Bar, doesn't mean I'm not open to learn.
  3. A day to give thanks. So many....... For starters, the board. Thanks for the second home Boss Safe travels to all this weekend, and may you all enjoy quality time with those you love. Happy T-Day to all but a very SPECIAL THANKS to all who are protecting our freedom today. Godspeed on your return. Pampers, enjoy the HS rivalry football games today Depends, enjoy the post Turkey nap
  4. Correct, for swimbaits, a seat belt would be more important than sensitivity, lol. When you get hit,....you'll know it.
  5. So, no stocked trout and you quit? Emo ain't the word, lol. You'll need to redefine "good fishing" if you'll ever be satisfied with anything. There are always bigger fish somewhere else. Personally, nothing I've ever caught in freshwater compares to 1/8th of the catches I've had in salt water but that doesn't keep me from doing either of them. I understand burnout though. I get it too. That's why I have no problem when the water freezes here. Keeps me hungry for the spring and keeps me from burning out. Going too much can do it too. Like skiing, when I went pro, I was skiing up to 280 days a yr and it became more of a job than a passion. But yea,....no stocked trout,....I'd quit too :
  6. UPDATE: Mary called me again today and was very excited. She said she thinks she may have found a better fit for the goodies. The RI Cancer Society has a camp, it's called Camp Hope. Each year they have a fishing derby (Actually located at Camp Aldersgate in N Scituate). We are going to donate a series of rods to the camp to keep for the derby and some others along with the *** and Strike King tackle, to give away as prizes at the derby. Now, another note. Wayne (SpeedBead), has secured us a $250 donation from his employer, Wal-Mart!!!!! I'd like to also see this money used to help out Camp Hope. I'm not sure as I haven't even talked to the Camp Director yet, of how the whole camp works but I'm sure we'll find a fishy way to use the $$. THANKS WAYNE!!!!! I am going to also offer volunteers for the day so anyone who wants to come pitch in is welcome. I'll post details when I have them
  7. That's not a sponsor, that's someone you are doing a favor for, has nothing to do with sponsorship. If you should pursue real sponsorships in the future, don't mention this, it won't reflect well.
  8. Perfect timing Muddy, I'm going down to the docks this afternoon to grab some Lobsters from the boys for tomorrow, they'll love this one!!! Happy Holidays!!
  9. Bingo. My dad had a license to carry and he (like any good parent) was at EVERY hockey and football game I ever had.
  10. AHA!! Somebody needs to hold that little lady accountable
  11. I've worked with the community director down there a few times in regards to CAST For Kids stuff. I spoke to her last night and they can only take new stuff, for sanitary reasons and she informed me that we won't be able to actually give the gifts out, too many sick kids and security issues to have a group wandering the hospital like that. She said she has a program to dispense the gifts people bring and that our stuff will be greatly appreciated so........ RALLY Ryan, don't buy anything , not necessary, just come. PM me with your travel itinerary.
  12. Is it me or does this thing have a liiiiiittle more power than the average kids toy? and then there's this Pimp. BALLIN'!!
  13. Howdy Hutchman and welcome aboard!! If you have any questions about learning the board, feel free to contact me. Ask the ornery old ugly guy how to do it, he's got my number
  14. ?? You think? I don't. Nothing personal and not a slam as you obviously have no problem with this scenario, but most people would associate someone wrapping their boat in another companies name for free as a "wanna be". Usually not a trait sought out when handing out real sponsorships. JMO As far as intimidation, I'd be much more intimidated by someone who's sponsorships came from winning tournaments and moving product through endorsement.
  15. LMAO, Matt hasn't been in the nicest of neighborhoods lately..... :-? The Spanish one is the one I was looking at, $550 for the set!! Not cheap
  16. Anyone ever use this language learning system?
  17. You're resorting to humor is actually quite refreshing and inspiring. You find a way to make a smile out of a dire situation. I'm not a big fan of organized sports, glad to see that others can take it for what it's worth. You have redefined the example of a aguy who's glass is half full. Being number one is all that matters, even if it's #1 at sucking the most!! :)e
  18. 2 lbs 11oz,lol,....I'm a professional fish holder on the side.......this is some of my best work. If it weren't for that darn small mouth, this 6 lbr could have passed for 9-10 ;D
  19. This is a shout out to any of the SE New England folks. I'm looking for stuff to give away to some of the kids at Hasbro Children's Hospital on Christmas Eve. Michelle and I have a small tradition of giving back on Xmas Eve and this yr, we will be bringing some of the extra gear from the CAST events and some other stuff we have acquired throughout the year to Providence for the kids to enjoy. No child should be in a hospital on Xmas eve, the least we can do is deliver them a smile. We have rods/reels, tackle boxes, and tackle from Strike King and *** If you have any toys or fishing gear or anything NEW that you think a kid would be pumped to receive, please shoot me a PM. Anyone interested in hopping on board for the rally or who wants to come with us on Xmas Eve is welcome to. Thanks
  20. I ain't gettin' squat, instead, we are going to go give some stuff away. Much more satisfying. I have some stuff leftover from the CAST season, tackle from Strike King and ***, rods/reels, tackle boxes etc that we will bring down to the Hasbro Children's Hospital on Christmas eve. I have also asked UPS if they would like to donate any toys/goodies from the overgoods dept., we'll see. If any RI's want to hop on the Xmas train and come down with Michelle and I, just holler. If you have any gear or toys (new please) that you'd like to donate, you know how to reach me. Also,.If anyone knows of a child/family (preferably someone who has fallen on harder times) who could REALLY benefit from getting a little something, please PM me with details Merry Christmas everyone
  21. The Shimano forum is a result of a relationship Glenn made this year. Bantam stepped up to fill the spot and answer all our questions. I believe others had gotten the offer but didn't see the potential. This is a good spot to say thanks to Bantam/Shimano for taking the time....
  22. Bizz, I notice you represent "Stage 4" pull-ups, does this mean you will be moving up to the depends team next yr???
