  1. There is no "service industry" per say for jon boats. It's assumed there is nothing the owner can't do. Find a welder and take care of him well. Around here, there are a good amount of aluminum welders because of the fishing fleets (salt water) but in other places, they can be sparse. Cash for their time and a case of beer goes a long way. Matt 5.0, a member here used to build race cars, he takes care of us, not a drop this yr. Be warned though, you have to be talented to do these boats, a less experienced welder can total your boat. Literally. So, if you found a welder,....keep him greased. As for paint, there are tons of options ranging from Rust-o-leum to automotive finishes like mine. If you have work needed, post about it in the boating section and we can walk you through whatever the task is, there is nothing jon related we can't handle. Tutorials are available also, just let us know. This is my boat, I used the Interlux Brightside yacht paint process. A bit overboard but ain't she purdy? lol
  2. Not here, the backside of the moon cycle can be just as deadly as the front. Dark nights, low wind,....deadly.
  3. So you want one so bad you are dieting to get it??? I'm flattered. When you are ready for a 2x, let me know. When that one is too big, I'll upgrade for free to an XL. A rewards system of sorts
  4. Thank you, and spelling counts! What are you talking about? I think you're losing it man......gotchya,lot
  5. you should throw it before telling anyone,....you might be on to something, lol.
  6. Mojo sent- GO GET 'EM CHICK!!!
  7. Time to start slowing down and time to start fishing the opposite clock schedule. In the heat of summer, we keep the outings in the dark hours, now we will be aiming for the peak heat hours, 11-3ish Big, slow baits Fish are looking to maximize their efficiency. Big meals that provide lots of energy but require very little energy to catch. Fat building is the bass' prime objective from here on out.
  8. The fish will let you know, try both till they show themselves.
  9. What a jerk. Keep clear of THAT character dude.

  11. Took me 2+ years, but now it has become my "go-to" lure. My strong suit has always been soft plastics, yet I have hardly fished them this year. That's really a big deal for me! 8-) Soft plastics-----> jigs, a natural progression. Think of jigging as soft plastics fishing,..accelerated. With jigs, you look to learn a better understanding of reading the bottom by feel. The next level.
  12. Kentucky '09!! Keep your head down!! No, not over there,...in Kentucky,...I'll be throwing the swimbaits and sometimes, you never know where that thing is gonna go. ;D If they let you keep the helmet, bring it ;D Seriously though, be safe and stay in touch as much as possible. let us know if you need us. Godspeed
  13. Prayers for your friend bud. Good luck.
  14. I'll make you a deal. Make an LBH Version of a wake bait. Interpret that however you want. Catch a fish on it and I'll send you the hoodie for $30 If the fish is over 5lbs, the shirt is free. Photos acceptable, video preferred. I'll also make you a rockstar in the next vid, lol. Gentlemens honor here bud. Now you have a goal. Go get it. Fishbear, 2x is my largest bud, too small? I need feedback from you guys so I know what to change 3x will be in the future.
  15. I didn't really "get it" till I totally dedicated to it. Throw nothing else till you learn it. It was the only way for me. I had tried them here and there, no luck, no confidence built. If you dedicate to it, eventually you will hit 1 of those "windows" where it reigns supreme and all the previous , seemingly fruitless hours beforehand, will now all make sense and you'll be addicted for a few yrs, minimum. Some nice fish in your future should you take this route ps- small jig/always use a trailer, grn/blk or brown combos. (Till your confidence builds, then explore)
  16. THIS will give y'all a good start, if it isn't covered in this thread,....it doesn't exist.lol
  17. Ever build a bait? NEVER too much sexy
  18. Funny, I mentioned in an earlier thread this morning that those of you who throw frogs could benefit from adding a rat tail. Well,...here ya go,lol.
  19. Not at all, your answer makes sense and I only addressed this to Bobby as he is the guru of the buzzbait. All input is welcome
  20. Don't go thinking you aren't on my list "Uncle Dom" I've used your # in the past and will most likely need it again someday. But you have mine too
