  1. 7.3 for those techniques, I use lower 6.3 for crankbaits.
  2. I currently throw weightless TR and wacky rigged Senkos with my spinning rod. I just got a IMX pro 853c over the weekend and am going to attempt to throw them with that setup.
  3. Thanks fellas, I'm going to keep both. I'm really kicking myself for not getting a couple more. The sale had IMX pros and E6X rods all B1G1. Unfortunately the most popular 894c's were all sold out or I would have grabbed one of those. Do you all throw a weightless Senko on the 853c? I currently use a spinning rod for that technique. Also, light texas rigs? Are we talking 1/8 tungsten plus plastic?
  4. I love my Sierra 702s I bought during the last TW sale.
  5. Fuego CT IMO. I have an older BPQ reel that I still use on a backup topwater rod but I much prefer the one Fuego CT I own.
  6. I stumbled upon a buy one get one free on two brand new IMX pros, 853c and an 854c. I wasn’t planning on buying and actually was going back and forth between the 853 or 854 in the NRX. End of story I came home with both. Well I ran across this deal today and couldn’t pass it up. Now I don’t know what to do? First, I’ve never fished an IMX pro so don’t know what to expect. I like my full cork handles on my Avids but really prefer a split grip. Next, I’m looking for sensitive rod for mainly 3/8 jigs plus trailer and t-rigged plastics. I’ll be 90% kayak fishing in light cover and a little bit open water. I was back and forth between the Kistler H3, LTB, and maybe if I could swing it the IMX. So, what should I do? Keep both IMX pros even though they are close in powers? What would I dedicate each rod to if I do that route? Sell both and get one NRX or other rod I was considering?
  7. Good thread, following. I want to respool my Stradic Ci4+ that will pair with my new Sierra 702S for Ned rig and maybe drop shot. What mono backing? I was just going to go straight fluoro.
  8. Yeah, Fuego CT is a good option for way under your budget. Or.......you can buy Curado K's all over the bay for right at $130, you just have to look around.
  9. If you already own one NRX I'd think anything else might be subpar? No? If you can swing it I'd get another NRX.
  10. That's my dilemma too, I can't justify both but I know when I get one I'll want the other!
  11. I've been meaning to read this book for a while, this thread just confirms that.
  12. I too was set on the 853C but after more reading on here the past few nights I'm changing my mind and going with the 854C. 90% of the time this rod will be used to throw a 3/8 jig plus trailer and from what everyone says the 4 power will handle that much better.
  13. IMO, there is no comparison. I bet this thread doesn't last long......
  14. Can't go wrong with the Stradic cI4+ reel. I've got one paired with a Dobyns Sierra 702s for my Ned rig setup.
  15. Pretty sure they still build them in Washington state. Do you fish with ALL American made rods/reels/lures? Just curious.
  16. Checked both our Dicks for the 5 for 5 and was pretty disappointed. Oh well......I don't need anything but Spring to get here. I'm ready to spend more time on the water.
  17. d**n, those Excences are so good looking.
  18. I've caught them on a spinnerbait in the winter but not as much as my other go to winter lures.......
  19. I can't answer your question, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Stradic Ci4+, I love mine and sometimes find myself wanting to actually fish a ned rig or a weightless Senko even if the bite isn't tough, just because I want to use that reel.
  20. Wow, wish I had known about that deal. My next rod is going to be an 853c but I just can't justify the retail price. I've been keeping an eye out on a deal like that.
  21. I've not yet tried to fish a weightless Senko on it, but I'm sure it would be great.
  22. I bought a 702 Sierra during the last TW sale and have it paired with a Stradic Ci4+, it's my dedicated ned rig setup.
  23. Following this as I'm looking to get a setup too, I've looked and held the Fury 795SB and it's probably going to be what I go with....
