I created this log with my fishing buddy back in '91. It was the first fishing log posted on the Internet. It's helped me tremendously, and I'm glad to see it's still as helpful and useful today as it was back then!

Agreed. I mean, Knoxville was a welcome change. But it seems they keep going back to the well (Birmingham, Greenville, Shreveport, and Tulsa). Not bad places, but very myopic, predictable, and frankly, boring. If they want to go back to previous locations, I'd love to go back to Houston or New Orleans! Draggos! But I'd rather see new and different venues each year.

Oh gee, the Classic at Birmingham....again. Tens of thousands of lakes and locations to choose from, and they keep going back to the same place.

You want to know why? Because of all the spammers who attempted to skirt the rules and then cried "FOUL!!!!!" because it wasn't absolutely 100% explicitly outlined or said in the rules. They knew they were wrong, but tried to argue it anyway. So I made the rules extremely explicit. Sorry it's so long, but you can blame the spamming jacktards that want to nitpick everything. Also, J Francho is right, we can't micro-manage the filters. Besides, they're in place because of spammers - who have hammered the PM's in the past with spam. So it negates the effectiveness of the spam filters by removing them from PMs. And AGAIN, to make it crystal clear, the filters are there because of spamming. If a brand is filtered, it's because they spammed the crap out the forums, and you (the members) complained about it. That's why the site is spam-free, which y'all love that.

Using tags to learn more about your ponds and lakes is common. It should be one of the best tools in your arsenal. This doesn't allow guests to post. It allows them to make their post, but they then have to register before they can post it.

This is a new feature designed to engage casual visitors to the site. The forums already makes it easy for guests to sign up using external services such as Facebook, Twitter and Google. However, there has to be a conscious decision to click that sign-up button. For some, this may be a barrier too many. This new feature reduces this barrier by allowing guests to create a post to a topic they want to engage with. Once they have posted, they are asked to simply complete their registration. They are more likely to do this now. When browsing the forums, guests will see the ability to submit a post, with an explanation that they can post now and complete registration later. The only thing they have to provide in addition to their post is an email address. If you're already a member but signed out, the message explains you should log in. Of course, you can create your reply and then log in to post it too. This new feature should make it easier for guests to sign up and become members. Hope that helps!

Thanks for sharing one of my videos guys! I appreciate it. Having launched/loaded literally dozens and dozens of boats through the years using various rigs and ramps, the best advice I can give you as a starting point is to ensure the front tires of the trailer are deep enough in the water so the front of the fender is out of water, while the back is submerged. One thing already mentioned here is dunking the bunks to wet them, then pulling back up the ramp the proper position to load the boat. I have a video on that below, but pay particular attention the final resting position. It will illustrate what I outlined above.

I use tungsten with a bobber stopper. I find I just don't go through weights like I used to with lead. And the bobber stopper prevents issues that pegging causes. Might seem expensive up front, but given I can use the same tungsten weight for a few seasons (yes, years), it's actually cheaper than having to replace lead sinkers several times a year as they get all banged up and warped.
