  3. Just a MOOK, %@&* these threads, I am a non participant anymore, they go nowhere >
  4. First off you are going to get a lot of suggestions, look for the ones from the fellas who have actually used what they are touting. That being said, all of these suggestions will be good, you should go to a tackle store and feel the rod and reel you want to choose, only you will know the perfect fit my suggestion Pflueger President X6735 60 bucks Trielne XL or Stren Original Mono 8# test , this is around 6 or 7 bucks for 330 yards Fenwick HMX 6'6" Med one piece around 80 bucks or a Cabelas Fish Eagle 2 , same length/action also 80 That is right under your ceiling Others will also have great suggestions, in the end I would go and check the ones out you are interested in BTW J fowler, on our Flea Market has a used in good condition President x6735 for 40 bucks, you may wanna check that out
  5. I only use the Fish Eagle II's I dont have experience with these. Fished em a couple of times, never owned one so I can't say
  6. I don't fight with 4bizz, I respect him , dont mean I can't bust em once in a while.
  7. Since you are so well adjusted I would not bother reading it. :
  8. That is worthy. As you would say EPIC!!!!!!!
  9. Here is a great site: animated instructions on a lot of good knots: http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com BTW : Burley has a lot of excellent ideas, except in the reel department ;D
  10. Hey , a heads upWalmart has Zooms on sale by me, check the one by you.
  11. I prefer my milk, fresh and warm.directly from it's natural dispenser. >>>>Family site, use your imaginations
  12. Darn, I never saw that one. Not that it matters but it would be like the fur lined hoodie! ;D Doesn't Ryan know where you live?? :
  13. Good advice and no experience should not be allowed in the same sentence. I know RW uses Shemanos and I use Floogers, I also know him from fishing in Texas with him, so I know even though we disagree he knows and uses that product One of my favorite pics here of all times was a shot of a big Shemano Touting Member, in his boat with 4 combos all Diawa reels!!!!!!!!!!!1 You can't possibly have a clear idea on how something works without using it .Impossible however your experience using the product may lead you to a different conclusion that it would me.
  14. Absolutely and indubilitbly!!!!!! Especially when it comes to music, or in your case noise ;D
  15. Hey RW, you use the Senko and Fat Ika, you turned me on to both, I trusted your experience. and value you experience over opinion. Growing up I saw guys really hurt listening to peoples opinions rather than life and real time experience. So if I know you have 20 Loomis rods but only use 4 of the models, that is all I will listen too, and that's just because i do trust your experience. Too many fellas here recommend stuff based on what they have heard or read, or if they happen to sponsor the site. Not everything they say has proven valid to me, and for me EXPERIENCE and not INFORMED OPINIONS is what I value, the rest is all dressed up
  16. Where are youre stones? ARGUMENTS. don't listen to Speedbead he is nothing but trouble
  17. Hey John: If you were going with a Balsa Crank. without Rattles , under 10 bucks where would you go? BAGLEY"S?
  18. Thank you much DMB!!!!!!!!!! Yea I am in the inferior mook crew also pfluger reels cabelas rods thilene xl and no stinking, over rated line treatments or Japanese expensive lures or plastics If I wanted to collect things it would not be fishing tackle! I fish all my stuff, I fish it hard, I can't see the use of letting my fishing equipment collect dust, I also should fish Salmon, because I go upstream and against the current a lot. I don't need to be part of the accepted group who use all the hyped stuff around here. If you use stuff to collect it, you have very little to say about reccomending it to people who are using the equipment to fish with, because you really can't judge an item until you use it, at least for some time
  19. Gotta wait until I get home, work computer filtered out the pic RATSSSSS
  20. I will concede that in many situations the results between rapalas and LC may be the same, but have you ever fished for smallmouth in 47 degree gin-clear water? I promise you you will notice a difference then. I have had my arse handed to me on the river enough times by guys fishing pointers when I was fishing rogues or x-raps to realize that I needed to switch. X-raps do catch fish muddy, in fact, they catch fish very well, but trust me when I tell you that sometimes japanese baits will flat-out outperform other lures. Oh, and Burley, X2 on the plug knocker, that thing has paid for itself many times over Yes I fish in the same state you do I LIVE IN PA!!!!!!!!!, I love it when someone who is alive less time than I have been fishing, talks down to me, like I don't know what I am doing. Yes I fish the Lehigh River in PA, the St Regis River on the NY and Canadian border and I catch very nice smallies in such water with * ( ***'s Fat Ika knockoffs) and Rapala Lures. I don't trust you, more expensive LC's and Japaneese Lures do not catch more fish under these conditions. Explain how my Buddy Dan , owns river smallies using a 5 dollar Lhur Jensen Speed Traps then. Your equipment does not make you, your brain does. Unless you consider that squirt bass in your avatar and the short muskie you caught with your carrot stick make you a pro of some type.
  21. Muddy replied to Catt's topic in Fishing Tackle
Gottcha Catt and LBH! There comes a point where I am not willing to pay for equipment that is "over kill" for lack of a better word. You don't need a hand grenade at a knife fight. *** work just as well as the Yamamoto Offerings. Put a decent Crank or Jig in the hands of an experienced Bass Fisherman, who knows how to FIND THEM CONSITENTILY and he will out fish a guy with a 70 dollar Depps bait every time. There comes a point where so many ounces off rod and reel weight and flashy looking baits are just way more than needed to get the job done.
  22. And it messes up your sneakers bad!!!! Hey Tommy: I have 2 small spray bottles from a beauty supply shop, that never stick, if you want a couple PM me your addy.
  23. It is not a question of taking it off the bottom or top of the feeding spool. IT IS OF EXTRME IMPORTANCE IT COMES OFF THE FEEDER SPOOL IN THE SAME DIRECTION AS IT GOES ON THE REEL SPOOL .Mark each feeder spool ( if you get the 3000 yard spools) as to the direction ( clock wise vs counterclockwise) with the labels facing up or down. Even different runs of the same brand can leave the spool differently in relation to label position. This is the main cause opf twist on spinning reels, closely followed by reeling in your line, as the fish is taking drag. You can back this information up by asking a reel pro like Reelmechanic and a few others here,
  24. Hey Micro; Those heads are also deadly with 4.5 inch *** Bush Bugs!!!!!!
