I have enough experience to say that technique specific equipment is highly over-rated. I love looking at rod catalogs and they have a 6' 6" Med / Fast Action rod and then they have the same rod, same blank , with the same line and lure weight recommendations with a split handle and a pro's name attached to it and label it their Finesse Worm Rod. lets say and it's 80 bucks more , give me a break! Other than all the ridiculous colors of lures this is the most hyped and over rated gimmick for fishermen to waste money on

Hey Fellas; Doc finally gave me a prognosis. I have some issues from a collar bone fracture and shoulder separation from when I got hit by a car many years ago and some tendinitis. He had me do some exercises and not pick up any weight to speak of for a while. I went back yesterday and my range of motion has increased but I am still in a lot of pain He told me no heavy baits,no long rods and I need to stop fishing if it gets to the point I am taking Motrin to get through the day, to avoid surgery. Have any of you dealt with these issues? Was surgery inevitable in the end anyways?

Hey Fellas; Doc's orders no heavy baits this year in an attempt to avoid surgery for a shoulder and tendinitis problem. I need suggestions for good wake/surface baits, under once ounce in weight preferably around 5/8ounce and made out of wood.

I find that drunk guides make more noise than sober ones. Give em a few beers and they start blabbing about how they know the spots and OH OH , WRONG GUIDES, sorry my mistake!

I have no experience with big dollar rods, so I can not offer opinions about them I do believe there is a point, as in stereo equipment and musical instruments that more money spent does not equal any real noticeable difference, to most people. Buddy Rich would sound great on kitchen pots! I have experienced the work of Alpster first hand and have seen the meticulous and expert work of Flechero. I have seen EJ becoming a great builder, and for me this is the exception to spending big dough. These fellas take care and concern to build their customers a custom wrapped rod and their work alone is worth the price I am a firm believer in Catt's" between the ears theory" I would bet if we gave Fellas( please excuse me if I leave you out) Like Catt, Randall, Fish for Dollars, LBH, Fivebass Limit, the Natural and CJ, for instance UGLY STICKS on a trip with most of us in attendance. They would out fish all of us, no matter how much our equipment cost and what they had to use. I know they would out fish me if I was in the same boat as any of them. Too much status and macho ism goes along with a lot of equipment purchases for me. In posts alone never mind on the water. Are the Cabelas and Fenwicks I use now better than the Shakespeare's I learned on, absolutely. As I get older do i appreciate lighter equipment, yes i enjoy the lowered strain on my arm I can't speak to Steetz and such but i have had the chance to use a Legend Elite, Techna Elite etc, and I have to say you the feel of the bite is not a whole lot different from a Fenwick HMG. ' The question is at what point does it become overkill, at what point does it have to be to say OK this is as good as I need, the rest is my talent and knowledge. THese thoughts are for actual fishing and not for the Tackle Junkies, who get their pleasure from the equipment and have every right to find it.

So the difference now is that we all get to wonder where certain people are. (and post about it) I liked the "ex-member" thing and while were are on it, I also miss the "banned" titles... both were clear, both were honest and neither left room for speculation. Yes, I know 2 or 3 people out of 18,000 accidentally deleted themselves, but it was easy enough to come back when they decided to call the deletion accidental. ;D (no offense intended) the software glitches are a different story. I don't know according to the nuns back in grammar school self-deletion could lead to blindness

It's called price gouging, they do it every Christmas, Thanksgiving,Fourth of July, as well as the entire period between Memorial and Labor days. These are the same time people drive the most, so these are the reasons just check one, that's what the big oil companies do anyway 1. More people driving, we can't meet the demand 2. Change of seasons and we don't have enough of the Summer/winter blend available 3. Refinery issues 4.Mid East Issues 5. Or the truth; THIS QUARTERS DIVIDNEDS ARE GOING BE ROCKIN!

BPS EXTREME rod and reel combos , just went off sale but they will be on sale this spring you can get a good dependable reel with a decent rod, in a matched combo for 99 bucks, I would strongly reccomend this

An update on our little buddy. I visit another site once in a while, and he is now a member of that forum under his former name. He now has a different PB, a different age and up to his old tricks, He has asked and is building how many posts he needs to become a senior member there and is HIJACKIG POSTS FROM HERE AND PUTTING HIS NAME TO THEM, talking about how bad he was treated here. He now has started the steak post there, the WD 40 thread,The John Morris post there, he just bought that reel now! and several others So were people wrong for calling attention to his bending the truth, ?

Both are great rods I prefer the HMG. I have used it and it is one great rod. Some will say She Man O's have better warranties, I NEVER HAVE HAD TO USE A FENWICK WARRANTY IN THE FIRST PLACE, so it really doesn't matter
