Identity theft: How safe your social security really is.
With the increasing number of identity thefts, I'm quite surprised our social security numbers and other personal information do not have the level of security they deserve. Having been an employee for the government for a while (actually I quit not so long ago), I find it so easy for anyone to gain access to public database, those information are in fact just clicks away. We have to sign stacks of papers involving keeping confidential information, but that's just as far as the rule goes. At any given moment, there are at least 10 people out there that handle and do have direct access to what would make anyone an identity theft victim (most of them are trustworthy, I know, but what percentage are potential predators is unclear). And as far as I'm concerned, there are websites that sell access to public database for less than $50 a month. We are not invulnerable, in fact we are more than vulnerable to the threat; the question is just when and how we become victims, for those that are still 'safe'. Isn't it time for something to be done to make us feel more secure? Just some random observation, thought I'd share. Feel free to comment.

Safely Releasing Catfish
shrimps, worms, chicken liver or even pork liver are going to work. I even caught one with a swimbait If the fish is big enough I hold him by the mouth like I do with a bass, or if it's small enough, see below (view from the top of the fish's head) Once I was trying to push a catfish to the water with my foot. He turned around and sting me right on my big toe, jumped and got away. Man that hurt :'( :'(

Downloading music
^viruses can be embedded in music files these days, they have the same size as regular music files. For suspicious files, pause the download and try playing it, if it wont play at all then cancel the download immediately. I had a few trojans coming to my computer that way, fortunately I stopped them on time. better way is to join, for example, music forums. You may just download the whole thing w/o worrying about viruses or whatnot. But copyright is another issue... Just my 2 cents

Is it ignorance or laziness?
Our hands are much tired from a whole day casting, so we just try to get the posts as short as possible and still making sense. Yes I tried

TRIVIA QUESTION !!! Need your help !
whether or not the bass floats or sinks down, dead or alive, its buoyancy etc...(as long as the fish doesnt move when the result is taken) will not affect the total mass/weight read from the scale. how the bass interacts with the water and the forces accounted make up the internal energy of stuffs INSIDE the tank (which, ideally, should be a closed system), and they cancel one another out perfectly to achieve a dynamic equilibrium unless the fish jumps out of the water for example. so yes, 20 lbs water + 5 lbs bass = 25 lbs. hope i make sense

i get that kind of accuracy with a yo-yo. too bad it wont go that far. plus since when did bass start living in mid air? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

night time in the summer
def shallow a few days back I was out fishing at about 8:00. it had been raining all afternoon so feeding activities were much expected. I was fishing senkos along a bridge about 8yrds long, 5 - 7 ft deep. caught 5 in like 10 minutes and lost 9 on that side plus 3 more on the other side (was using the other rod, not much sensitivity so I missed almost all the hooksets)

Advice for detecting that TICK TICK!
to tell the truth, I am so used to fishing slowly with worms/jigs I started driving slowly also. 6.4:1 ratio is still too fast for me to handle. I'd just cast the worm, wait for it to settle down for a while and do something else in the mean time, or just cast it ashore and let it crawl into the water. when I first started fishing the lake I currently go to right now w/ no knowledge whatsoever about what is going on underneath the water, I caught 30+ bass in 3 days (2 hrs per day) including a 6 pounder. do what the pros say, when you're in doubt, set the hook
