  1. At first read ofthe title I was going to strongly disagree. Then I read the body of the post, and Hmmmmmmmmmmm you may have something here. Yes, smallies are way harder fighters, but smarter?????? No, I don't think so. I believe I have hooked into several 10 plus pounder LMB's and landed nary a one. They zig and zag, know exactly where the nearest tangle of cover is and run for it like a bullet...When all else fails they race toward the boat and get the slack they need. Yeah, yeah,,,that's right...they is the smartest.
  2. with all the laws on the books these days, it's not too hard to be a technical criminal. funny how a handful of bankers can bring the economy of the most powerful nation on earth to it's knees, and it's legal, but some young woman pays a speeding ticket and is now a criminal. :-/
  3. Ummm. Am I supposed to laugh?

  5. well done son. Great day of fishing. Oh, take a GPS next time ;D
  6. live bait can be alot of fun. It's not the unfair advantage that some people think. Live bait fishing has it's own set of required skills.
  7. pond fishing is alot of fun. Much more relaxed, and the fishing can often be very productive.
  8. Idon't have one color that works best, but I do have color preferences on different baits. Examples... ratltrap - first choice is blue/chrome senko - watermelon/blk crankbaits - chartreuse/white worm - junebug spinnerbait - white jig - blk/blue chug bug - orange belly when these solid colors don't produce to my satisfaction I often find that some kind of "ghost" pattern will work. That's my story an I'm stickin to it.
  9. You might just have one of "special individuals" by that I mean all baits are not the same. You can go to a shop and there may be twenty of the identical bait. I mean IDENTICAL same manufacturer, same color, same size, same lot number. Yet if you bought all 20 you would find that 10 fished about the same 5 fished worse than the others and 5 fished better. Then there are those one in hundred, or maybe even one in athousand individual baits that are totally superior. I had one once. it was a heddon dying flutter. It would catch fish when nothing else would. It ALWAYS produced. Many was the day that it rescued me from the skunk. Then one day it got lost in the jaws of a mighty huge pickerel and that was that. I immediately went out and bought another, not nearly as good, so I bought another. Again not so good. I bought a bunch more....none as good. Over the years I still occasionally buy one but I long ago concluded that that particular example just had something special about. Yes, I have bent the props, tweaked it this way and that. NO dice. You either get one or you don't.
  10. I have no idea as to the answer to your question, I just have to give props to any bassresourcedotcommer who starts a thread with " Heat as a biproduct of reverse photosynthesis" as the title.
  11. TOO BAD THERE IS NOT A NEW HOOKEMDOWN TO GO WITH IT Hookemdown is no little kid anymore. So I propose he change his name to "hookemup" Oh sometimes members will delete their profile and become "ex members" but I don't know why anyone would do such a thing :-/
  12. Hey Hookie, Look me up when your 21. I want to buy you a drink.
  13. wow, That was some party.
  14. and diggin the taters, I decided to mosey on down to my secret fishing hole and ketch me a few o these here. zoom finesse worm, with 1/0 straight shank owner on spinning tackle. caught 5 of the little devils in about 30 minutes. Then it was time to go back to the homestead and pull a few stumps. A man's work is never done. 8-)
  15. A new personal best is always exciting. Well done!
  16. Y'know, I actually think that they probably do. Then go on to explain how it is for their own good. Kind of like when your child needs to get an injection. My favorite comment came from the link to their website. Earth First! has finally come to a loose consensus on capitalism as the root cause of our ecological crisis. Google some images of pollution in china.
  17. Good luck russ. I too picked up the habit again. I tried nicorette gum. Now I chew nicorette between cigs. Somehow I don't think that was the intent. Hope your luck is better. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. The nausea and irritability, i could definitely live without. The intense dreams could be interesting. Let us know if you have any.

Unless you continually reel a popper like a spinnerbait, it will always have a pause. Even when popped very quickly there is still that split second of pause between pops. I experiment with the # of pops, the speed of the retrieve, and the forcefulness of the popping action. I definitly find that the bass will prefer one method over another on any given day.
  19. I really like the RC series and have one in each size. but not a waker. sorry.
  20. I'm sooooooooooo tempted to continue the quote game. But, in defference to the forums bandwidth I will resist the urge and say. Yes. (sorry to poop the party)
  21. I have a theory that seems to hold up for me. Wondering about your experience. I find that wide wobbling crankbaits work better when the primary forage is crawdads and/or brim. I find that the tighter wobblers work better when the forage is primarily shad. Whaddya tink?
  22. I can't pick just one. So, like RW I'll give you my top two. 1. Senko 2. ratltrap. These two baits are always tied on, always thrown, and usually catch bass. My 3. would be a crankbait, if on my home lake a wiggle wart. when somewhere else a bomber or rapala often work better. Why? I dunno but i have a theory... good idea for a new post. good luck.
  23. nothing creative here. weightless senko's and ratLtraps rule the fall for me.
