  1. With my 1436 you would be at or above the weight rating for it with 2 200+ lb guys and the equipment you are talking about. Course I take mine out in Lake Wylie, and I cannot get away with running it that close if I want to stay dry.
  2. I've decked my 1436. The front deck is a bit high (maybe 3 inches below the seats. You have to be steady to fish up there. I have 2 folks who go with me that are so unsteady on it, I take out the post and put the seat right on the deck for them. I have other who site up there with no issue. The back deck, I put in maybe 2 inches above the floor (needed them there to be able to operate the stick steer motor and transom mounted TM). That one of very steady and easy to stand and fish from. As to the benefits of either, 1. looks better, 2. in the sun, the carpeted decks to not get hot like the bare aluminum. 3. Sound 4. having the level smooth surface is easier to fish from 5. The way the weight is worked out, the boat rides nicer. 6. MUCH more comfortable with seats in there instead of the benches 7. Gave me a platform for running electrical and installing livewell.
  3. I had always thought that there must be HUGE numbers of planets out there that support life. In the last 20 years however, we have discovered many more "special" things needed for life to reach our level. 1. Need to be in the habitable zone (high number of planets meet this requirement). 2. Need to have chemical components for life present (high number of planets meet this requirement) 3. Need to have dual liquid/solid core capable of generating strong planetary magnetic field (our is believed to have come from being hit by a Mars sized planet) 4. Need to have a low number of comets and large asteroids (too many collisions and advanced life cannot evolve). The orbital shifts of Jupiter and Saturn cleared the larger asteroid and many comets out of the solar system to help us enter the calm period we are in now for impacts) 5 - ? There just seems to be more and more items stacked up that had to come together for us to be here. I mean look at Venus, roughly earth sized, and has a runaway green house effect and crushing acidic atmosphere. Of course, as far as we know we have an infinite universe which goes to say, within an infinite universe everything is likely to happen over and over again. I would not think we would be that extraordinary but all the recent scientific discoveries seem to make us sound more and more unique. With Kepler out there and the next generation of space telescopes going out in the next 20 years, we shall see,
  4. Whether trout fishing or bass fishing, I have to have natural sounds around me. The noise water makes in the hull, birds, distant board flying by, etc. Just need to full audio package along with everything else. And even when I get skunked, I still leave the water relaxed. Having a full livewell/creel is nicer, but I just love the experience itself.
  5. Depends on how far you want to take it. For mine about 1/2 of the stuff was available at the local Walmart. I think the carpet cost more than anything else. I got the full marine carpet from Lowes. I did an aluminum structure under the decks so that cost more...could have done it cheaper (and heavier) with wood. Could have saved on the carpet, I also did oak doors on my storage areas (just love the look of oak)

One of clients saw this over the weekend. She did not really like it. One note guys...in case you did not see the rating, it is R. Do NOT take the kids. She said there were a number of folks there with little kids and said there was plenty of sexual content on the movie.
  7. Glenn that is what kills me. Some of these viruses show sophisticated in-depth knowledge of the OS, and various other applications. These nimrods could be making a mint using their skills at work. I also find it ironic how they feel they are sticking it to the man and the evil corporations by using a medium that would not exist for them without those very same evil companies. No big companies, no internet (would be a government and research network only), no cell phones, no Sony WII or xbox, no TV, no nothing. They would actually have to go out and do stuff outside. Anyway....enough ranting....I am glad to see you got yourself back up and running. Hopefully the fellow writing the virus will go blind or lose his fingers in an unfortunate wood chipper accident.
  8. Well, there is this widow out there who has been contacting me trying to get me to help get some cash over here. Oh, and that nigerian government official. My favorite was the devout Christian woman one. She is sitting on a pile of cash, and "through the love of Christ", wants me to help her by claiming a false identity and using it to launder large sums of money out of the country. LOL. I wonder how desperate you need to be to hold onto a belief that it is real.
  9. Yeah if you do fish Erie, definitely bulk up on the safety gear. I used to go out on it with my Dad and his bud on a 21 or 23 ft boat. We had a couple close calls. One in particular, it went from smooth as glass to 10 ft swells in less than 3 hours. We barely made it back. We were actually on the radio with the coast guard at one point. A bass boat, with its lower profile would never be seen in those types of swells. I would highly recommend these GPS locators on Erie or Ontario (those are the 2 I have been on), probably a good idea on any larger body of water like that. Those lakes are just too big and too temperamental.
  10. He is a great athlete, no doubt. However, even more than having a dude arrested every other day, some folks have the ability to just poison a team. He is one of those guys that kills me cause he is given a HUGE natural ability (which he works his butt off to maintain), and he really wastes it by his attitude. I tell you what, if someone offered me 1.2 the cash he makes to play football or baseball for a living, I would have absolutely no problem sealing my lips and just play the game. Passion is a great thing but he should have learned long ago, when the cameras start rolling, seal the lips, don't say a word to them, maybe a boiler plate "I would like to thank the <insert team name here>, <insert team owner name here>, <insert coach name here>, and <insert name of belief here>, and all my teammates for giving me the chance to play today." That is all he has to do. Yeah I know he wants to numbers and he thinks the QB or team need to help him but he will be getting lower numbers being a PITA. He reminds me of Brian Cox with the Dolphins. GREAT talent, but a total nimrod (being from Buffalo, NY I loathed him even more). As soon as he lost a little of his edge he was done. Nobody, wanted him. To will find out quick, being the type of person he is, as soon as his A game is down even 5%, no team will want him and it will be too late then for him to start behaving.
  11. Alright, so I get an email from Mr. Chen at a honk Kong bank. Be wants me, a total stranger, with absolutely no qualifications, to help him on a $40 million transaction. When I do this he will give me 40% freaking percent. First of all, I would like to find the guys who send these, and remove their fingers to keep them from typing. Second of all, how do people fall for these scams? There are some that are better written but most of the ones I get are so obvious. I just do not understand how you can think, rationally, that someone in the above scenario is doing anything but scamming you.

Where the heck where you when I was going there!? I would have killed for something like that.
  13. Where in NC you looking to go? I am just west of Charlotte. You could do what you are doing, they are also hiring cops here at most levels. I work in IT consulting, cool field. Love doing it. It is still one of those fields you can buckle down, work real hard (focus on the REAL HARD) and even without a degree potentially make it big time.
  14. That is probably what they were counting on. I am a HUGE advocate for protecting children, however, things like this are the reason we need to reconsider our laws a bit when it comes to allowing stores to apprehend kids like this.
  15. LOL! Awesome point on the windows. I saw a dude back his truck up so far his rear bumper was under water. If his boat was a foot longer or the lake 6 inches lower, his trailer would have been off the ramp. Absolutely no idea what he thought he was doing. I keep mine open and the last foot or so I am hanging out it so i can see my rear tire.
  16. They were probably in shock. Of all the things you would think would happen in the store (theft, vandalism, PETA, etc) probably the last thing is someone jumping in a tank with those huge fish.
  17. The one in Charlotte had a huge gar in there last time I was there. I would think that fish may take a offense to being jumped on.
  18. Nothing but problems. In itself, that is something I can look past cause EVERY company screws up. It is how they handle the screw ups that makes me a customer or not. They have nickle and dimed me to death on this van . Fought warranty work every step, and with the sheer number of different issues, just been nothing but unhelpfull. To your original point though, I would not buy Chevy either. I have always owned GM, except for the van, and I just have no confidence my warranty would be worth anything.
  19. I have ha done of their vans for 3 years and I would not buy one of their cars again if they gave them away.
  20. yeah....you definitely get those folks everywhere. I remember when I was growing up in Buffalo, my father had a boat, so I had a good deal of experience back then, saw a dude with 1 26 footer launching into the niagara river, he totally forgot to put his plug in. So I tried to tell him, he kept telling me leave him alone, he knew what he was doing. He was actually a dick about it and the Niagara River is not a place you want to get in trouble in. I eventually gave up, he motored out, then turns around floors it back to the ramp, bailing water out, barely got it back on the trailer. LOL, that was funny and he was lucky he did not get in more trouble.
  21. One of the ones I an guilty of sometimes is loading the boat on the ramp (takes me about 3 minutes) and unstrapping on the ramp (takes about 2 minutes). The launch I use just sucks the way it is laid out. If i stop anywhere to do it before I am on the ramp (there are 6 launches divided into 2 sections), I end up blocking access to one or both of the sections where the launches are. One the rare occasion it is crowded though, I will unstrap and load while waiting in line.
  22. The only thing with this is when folks buy their boats in spring. I would not expect them to sit on them until winter. If possible probably finding a slower/less busy ramp would be a good idea.
  23. Good point, I would ask if they want a hand first. At least around here 99% of folks will either say "sure" or "No thanks". On the rare occasion I have gotten a look or something I just walk away. One thing I LOVED when I started camping is how folks look out for each other. When you got somone having issues getting in or out, or hooking up, or something horrendous goes wrong, it almost seems like a secret society how folks help out.
