  1. ...and the other thing. Marriages are as unique as the people in them. What works for one couple may suck for another. I think it was eddie Munster who posted the rules he and his wife live by. I definitely see the wisdom in those rules. I know of 2 or 3 couples I know that setting formal rules in that manner would cause severe trust issues, however, obviously in with Eddie and his wife, through mutual respect they have agreed to live by those and that is awesome. Anyway, good luck man, I really pray for nothing but the best for you and your wife.
  2. Welcome, check the boat threads there are a tonr of awesome threads on decking Jon boats. I did my own based off ideas I got there.
  3. Where in NC you hail from?
  4. I actually have that particular one singled out for the next year when I look into getting a new one. If you get it let me know how it runs for ya.
  5. When I was in High school and college I worked at McD's for 4 years. Some of the highlights: 1. Twice in 4 years some came into the men's room dropped trough, took a dump and spread feces on all 4 walls floor to ceiling. One thing I did learn, that much material in NYS was considered a HAZMAT situation, we had to call in some specialists to clean it up. 2. One elderly woman twice a month for 6 months would go to the store buy a box of tampons, open each of them and stuff them all down a toilet at once and flush. (took the pluber a while to clear the pipes). 3. On 3 or 4 occasions we had drunk people pass out while waiting in drivethru (the cops LOVED responding to those and breaking into the cars passenger side quietly to put the car in park, all the while hoping the guy didn't wake up and slam on the accelerator). 4. The bus stop outside the building was the last stop on a line that started at the Buffalo Pshyc center. Many times they would get on and get off at the last stop and come in for a treat. One woman every couple months would get out come to our store and beat herself to a bloody pulp in front of the counter. 5. Had a jogger come in and threaten (at the top of his lungs) to beat my grill guy to death for messing up his Fish Filet.. He suddenly stopped when I threatened to call the police and have him arrested for child abuse (I suddenly pointed out he was yelling at a minor, 16 yr old). Told him he could leave and come back when he could act like an adult. He loved that.

Coincidentally, this is also the BEST time of the year to have 4 kids. LOL
  7. I had not used it till last year. Getting my taxes done in 30 minutes and mailing them out electronically for a refund in my account in 4 days. How can you beat that. My taxes used to stress me out SOOOOO much before that.
  8. Sorry to hear about this man. I am sure it hurts a lot. I know it would me. Me and my wife started dating when she was 15 and I was 18. We are both in our 30's now. You could say we have changed a LOT since we were dating. We have had some interesting times. I can say we have both hurt each other with poorly chosen words MANY times. Couple things that have helped us: 1. There is no "D", no way out of this. They always say you wold be amazed what you can do when you have no choice. 2. Oil changes/routing maintenance, we have regularly gone to marriage retreats and seminars. It can be fun, but at the least it is like an oil change for the truck. Without that maintenance, your truck may run pretty rough. BTW, your dates, absolutely awesome, don't give up on those. 3. Trust and forgiveness. This is by far the toughest one, at least for me. You have to trust your wife, which puts you WAY out on a limb because there is the chance your trust will be betrayed and that REALLY hurts, thats where forgiveness comes in. 4. Honesty, this is where you sit down and as calmly as possible, talk to your wife about what was said (apologize of you should), and explain how it makes you feel. Also, allow her to chat about her feelings. My grandmother sat me down when I was getting married, she had told me me "Marriage is the toughest thing you will ever do, sometimes you cannot stand the person you are married to sometimes they can't stand you. But you work through it, you find a way even when there is none, and it will make you stronger." That from a woman who was married to my grandfather for 56 years even through the lost of their first and only son (they had 2 younger daughters). Stick with it man, and good luck. Do not be afraid to bring in a marriage counselor if you both think you need it. At the least it shows both of your dedication to making it work.
  9. Funny, my 2 yr old does the same thing every now and then. Maybe all she needs is someone to take her over their knee, and put her to bed. When she can behave and act like a big girl, she can come out.
  10. Anyone have anything against the "word" Phat? I LOATHE it. My nephews and nieces love to harass me with it. Makes me feel like an old guy.
  11. Well the really important thing is he is so very modest about it. LOL.
  12. I have got one of those mushroom ones. Pluses, easy to pull up, easy to deploy, no to snag on boat. Downside, in moderate/heavy wind or wake, it will slip(depending on bottom) When I was growing up we had one of the "normal" ones that dug in a bit. Pluses, once it caught, it did not move one bit Downside, occasionlly we really got it stuck and had to go upstream, had to be real careful not hit the side of the boat with it. Also, do you usually fish with a current?
  13. ...and there ain't no dumb questions. I guarentee if someone else here was not wondering the same thing, someone soon will be. I got a tracker 1436 and I really would never consider anything narrower than 36. For me my boat works well but I have some buds that do not fare so well in the stability a 36 offers.
  14. Great topic guys. Personally, I will usually follow as they are saying here, then once i get an idea of where the structure is, I will cast past it and work over it, depending on the shape I will try multiple angles. Unless I am really shallow (< 4 ft) spooking fish is generally not going to be an issue, and even then, it is not a guarentee. I actually have had times I sat down, accidentally dropped a line over the side of the boat a couple feet and gotten a hit. now too often but it has happened.

Hey BTech, what's stopping us from forming one? I think recently we just had a lot of new CLT area members join. We would have to be able to get something going.
  16. Be careful. These jugheads may sooner or later trash you credit rating. Give Jiffy Lube corporate a call and tear them a new one. Mention to them that while you would prefer not to, you are going to be consulting an attorney and consider recovering damages from any harm to your credit rating, and the emotional stress you are receiving. Last time I had a company do something like this I turned them over to the AG in NC. They are demanding payment for something they are not entitled to. In that case, once the AG contacted them, they fixed the glitch pretty quick. It is Jiffy Lubes vendor so it is Jiffy Lubes problem.
  17. That sounds more like a problem with customer service than training. Even if they do not understand they can be gracious about it. That she fought so hard for a $3 discount...that is pretty bad.
  18. I feel your pain. I have had so much trouble getting Bass in Lake Wylie this winter. Been skunked plenty. Just annoying. Now I came from Trout fishing, and I can always find some trout but Bass have been challenging. I found a mess of places, that I KNOW there had ot be bass around, could not land anything. Just frustrating. Hope spring gets better.
  19. I set mine on my Tracker 1436 right on the bench and set it with 6 VERY heavy duty toggle bolts. Then filled in under the plate with some permenent marine adhesive for extra measure. That thing have been under heavy use for about 8 months and does not budge.
  20. All winter here, I have been pulling them out of 10 ft. Been the magic depth for the last 3 months
  21. I actually have a Walmart cooler and hush bubbles aereator I have been using for a year. Love it.
  22. I hit the mountain streams in NC all the time. We have a lot more luck with Live bait, Crickets seem to work real nicely.
  23. You could try a modified version of the aluminum structure on a couple jons on here. I did mine that way the fraem put like 5 lbs on the boat. Then used plywood (soaked in Thompsons) and caprented works great!
  24. Congrats BTech. If you are hitting Wylie, you should really check out the launch I told you about. Got some awesome areas near there.
  25. FYI...he was back around my neighborhood again today, gave my house a wide berth. This time i called the cops as did 3 other people from my neighborhood. Who knows what he was up to but when the police talked to him, low and behold he had outstanding warrants for fraud and such. Never been caught breaking into some place, but either way, he should no tbe walking round like that, and now he won't be for a bit.
