If you could bring one bait/lure with you fishing...
Exactly. So let's say I'm going tomorrow. I'd grab one of my crankin' rods and a shad colored square bill crank (a custom flat crank I bought on ebay). A jig or lizard would work well also, but I can burn water with the crank.

2009 Kistler Helium LTA Question
I'm going to BPS tomorrow; I'll confirm or deny it. You can't trick customs . You can't 'sneak' and have something made overseas....if the product doesn't have an 'country of origin' sticker, it not only will not make it through customs, but the company can endure major fines.

Great video on how Loomis builds their rods.
Awesome!

Rod Suggestions For A Scorpion 1000
I've got a brand new Falcon Cara T7 Weightless Worm Special (actually 3 of them), and I have fallen in love with mine for small cranks/shaky/etc. It is a 6'8" ML/M fast split grip. I'd even send it to you to try, and if you didn't like it you can send it back. If you are interested...PM for price.

What the different between line weight ?
You should really look at diameters versus a manufacturers rating (which are always inflated. Pline CXX's 10lb line for example...breaks at around 20lbs dry, but it is a .014" line.

is there anything decent with a BPS name on it?
The extreme's are ok, but they are definitely a 'bargain' reel. The Prolite finesse, Pro Qualifier, or Rick Clunn's model are the reels to get; I read nothing but positive reviews about them.

Fish Attractants. Which ones work?
I don't even use Megastrike, but Ike used it in the classic and claimed it gave him a lot of confidence.....and he isn't sponsored by Bobby. I bet Bobby did a somersault when he read that. Seriously, that exposure alone was worth no less than $30k.

St. Croix "MOJO" casting rods what's the word??
The word on the Mojo is that is represents marketing genius. Not marketing genius as in it has 'taken' consumers, yet filled a gap. The $100 rod market is larger than the $200 and $300 rod market combined, but these $100 rod buyers want a slick looking rod they can be proud of. The Premier was a competitive rod at the $100 price point as it was, but giving it a complete split-grip makeover with an attractive color just plain makes sense. Before the Mojo....what $100 rod could be bought that you would want to show your friends?! Exactly. Pride of ownership. I honestly like the Compre blank better, but 'Croix created a really nice package.

broken rod
Any house brand rod will be replaced by the respective store....no questions asked.

Pure Fishing Does it Again
It's simply a matter of cost. It is more cost effective for pure fishing to just replace the reel versus employing an entire department of reel mechanics. The cost of replacing reels is simply lower than the salaries required to employ a repair department. Pure Fishing got as large as they are by making good decisions

Rod Suggestions For A Scorpion 1000
The Shimano 'regular' Scorpion represents a tie between it and the pixy as the best casting baitcaster I have ever used. Cal (whom has used a lot of reels) agrees with me. The burgundy scorpion outperforms the Mg50 and Scorpion Mg in casting.

Post something about the poster above you!
....wants to thank captain obvious for his signature; we had no idea who made that post

which rod for carolina rigging
I like a 7', but your flippin' stick will work well. I just end up moving my bait a little too much with a 7'6".....

My new custom build - Thanks to Booten
When are we gonna see those black beauties of yours? I'll take some pics when I'm done painting. I'm working on some red ones now. I'm trying to pick up one or two more td-z's, but they are getting scarce.

I want a Revo
Uhhhh, let 's see Daiwa Zillion limited edition $300 TDZ spool $80 That makes 380 ........ man you getting close and that 's without the handle and the cork knobs. . I should say 'I' wouldn't pay $500 bones for it, but from a manufacturing standpoint....fabricating gears and such isn't easy or inexpensive work, so they aren't out of line asking that for it in today's market I suppose. The Japan limited thing is out of control IMHO; the Japan limited zillion has a $280 handle!

My new custom build - Thanks to Booten
Nice rod, but that reel sucks. You need to put it in the flea market for around $175

Pure Fishing Does it Again
I sent in a bulk spool of Trilene Sensation ($60), that I was having breakoffs with. I included a note asking for a voucher, because the only other line I use by pure fishing is the trilene 100%. 4 days later I had a $179 spool of 17lb Trilene fluoro at my doorstep 8-)

I want a Revo
Au contraire, mon frere. Some of the bearings are upgraded, the drive and pinion gears are upgraded, two other gears are upgraded and one other thing that is slipping my mind at the moment but it's shown on the video. I concede. I didn't look it up; just commenting on what I saw. Upgraded gears is a suprising mod; most spin-off reels just sport an upgraded spool, handle, and paint job. Still not worth $500 bones, but those crazy japanese will pay it though.

What Is A Good Baitcaster For Throwing Crankbaits?
When I was younger; 3.8 or 4:1 reels were the standard crankbait reels. Then 5.1:1's are what everyone was using. Now you see more and more 6.2:1 reels used for cranking (including me). I can just fish faster. Also, I don't like anything that can hold more than about 120yds of line. Any more than that and you can forget about baits 1/4oz and below.

Quantum vs Shimano
I agree with that, and I just bought two Tour Editions . Mine feel great, but then again I bought mine from Cabelas and have nothing to worry about if they go up'.
-
I want a Revo
The spool and handle are nice, but other than that is just a revo (not that there is anything wrong with that ) The Pfluegur guys should be excited as well....those aftermarket parts probably fit their reels .

What is the Most Sensitive Rod Money Can Buy?
I've got several, and they are indeed sensitive. You are splitting hairs with the higher-end rods, but the BCR is still the benchmark IMHO.

What is the Most Sensitive Rod Money Can Buy?
Hands do not affect how conductive a rod blank is. A rod blank conducts and transmits vibrations....and some are going to be less dampening than others. Just like some metals are more conductive than other metals; some blanks are going to be better conductors of vibrations. It wouldn't be hard to measure it with electronic equipment; you could simply attach something transmitting a vibration to the end of a blank, and measure how much is retained at the other end.

How do you organize your tackle?
3700 boxes are the standard. Just buy a bag that holds 3700 size boxes, and take which ones you need on that particular trip. You can add boxes as you get more tackle, and keep them on a shelf.
