  1. Has anyone tried one? thoughts opinions?
  2. I HATED my BPS extreme reel! I have 3 other BPS reels that I love. One is a Pro Qualifier, and 2 of the cheap LTD reels, both cast a mile with very little thumbing, but I tried 2 different BPS extreme reels and HATED the braking. BUT.... their are a lot of people that love them just not me. I would keep practicing but I have used bait casters for years, with no trouble until I bought that extreme. JMO
  3. I had all abu round reels until this year, and thought I would try a LP reel. Now I have more LP reels than round reels, for me they are just more comfortable to palm. I still use my round reels for catfish. I will say as bad as this may sound to some, I have done 0 maint. to them other than rinse off, and oil but they still are as smooth as ever. As far as the LP reels, only time will tell for my lasting opinion.
  4. X2 until this year I only had Abu round reels, 0 trouble casting, I actually had to get adjusted to the LP baitcasters.
  5. I couldn't decide between the Curado E7 and the Revo SX so I bought both to compare. I love both reels. I have both spooled with 12lb Suffix Siege Mono. But I would agree with everyone else that you need to go to the store and playing with both reels mounted on a rod. It is very hard for me to switch from Abu, which all my other reels are. I have to say I favor the curado for braking, but the SX for feel and smoothness. But I am splitting hairs, I wouldn't get rid of either. You have a tough choice. Good Luck
  6. I saw that tonight, the look awesome. When you get them let us know what you think? I think I am going to try a carrot stix next but the C3 has sparked my attention as well.
  7. I LOVE MY CUMARA AS WELL!! 6'8" MH F want more all my other rods seem like junk to me after feeling how light and sensitive it is. (for the price) never tried a G. Loomis IMX or GLX but they are more $$$$ as well
  8. suffix siege suffix braide never tried Yo-Zuri or Fluorocarbon
  9. Thanks again to everyone, I value all of your opinions. I went to Cabelas yesterday and think I have decided to go with the Stradic. Thanks again to all that replied
  10. Thanks RW, I appreciate all your help. I asked a month or so ago about your Sustain and 10 trips to BPS later still haven't decided. LOL I think I am going to go with the Stradic but wanted to make sure I wasn't making the a decision I would regret.
  11. I have been trying to decide if it is worth an extra $90 dollars for the Sustain over the Stradic FI. I am only a weekend fisherman, here and there when I get a chance so could I justify the extra money for the Sustain? I appreciate your opinions and suggestions.
  12. I guess I am the odd ball of the bunch, but I had an extreme and HATED it's braking system. But I would agree with most it is hit or miss. I have 2 BPS cheap 39.99 tour. special reels and LOVE them. But everyone you talk to LOVES their extreme, but it just wasn't the reel for me.
  13. X2 I don't have one, but BPS had a few set up to demo and I LOVED this rod!
  14. Love my Revo SX, never had a Quantum.
  15. Spiderwire or Suffix I am not knocking PP I have two reels spooled with it, but I just don't care for it. Seems to break off easier than Spider or Suffix. Probably just me but I also don't like the coating or whatever it has on it.
  16. LOOKS awesome, I have been considering trying one. What do you think of the RX7 blank they use? What would you say it compares to, in comparison to other rods? weight, sensitivity..... I am with you guys on the black on black looks tough!!
  17. I don't know much about the manufactures or what the reels look like inside, but I just got a new BPS pro qualifier and it says made in Korea. My only other reel with the made in Korea is my Revo. I am not implying anything just fun facts I thought I would share.
  18. Santa was very good to me and I received a Curado 200e7 attached to a 6'8 MHF Cumara. All I can say is WOW! I am not trying to start a debate on which brand is better, but I cannot believe how light, easy to cast, backlash resistant, and awesome looking of a combo. I know this may sound like I am bragging to some, while others will be like whats the big deal its only a..., but I am in love with this combo. I haven't fished it yet, but just playing around in the yard I was questioning at times if my practice plug had came undone it went so far!!
  19. I think it is hard not to form a bias view towards one company when you get use to using that brand all the time you start to trust them. If you would have asked me 6 months ago I would have said Abu only. But now I have a Shimano, BPS, Shakespear (spinning) and I like them all. But the more you pay them better they feel up to a certain point. I don't have much experience with Spinning Gear but I have played with some at BPS, and it seems after certain price point the differences get smaller between each model. Also>.... I did get a BPS extreme baitcast originally that I hated, I then assumed all BPS reels were junk even though most loved the reel. I wanted to give BPS reels another chance so I purchased another one of their cheaper BPS baitcasters and loved it so much I now have two. I think I may have just gotten a bad extreme reel. So don't let one bad reel sway your opinion either. But if I could only have one Spinning reel: Shimano Sustain SO SO SMOOTH
  20. Rooster I know you love your extreme reels, and I have several friends that I work with that love this reel also. I think I may have gotten a bad one. I am going to exchange it for another one and give it another chance. I have 6 other bait casters 2 BPS, and 4 Abu's with no trouble back lashing.
