i thought i would get a cheap baitcaster for starting out bad idea it only made things worse and my anger anything under a hundred is cheap unless its on sale

jigs are always my fall backs no matter what especially in cold water

i have caught three of my five biggest bass using gills. hook it through the dorsal fin or use a treble hook and hook the gill in the mouth i have found usually the monster bass go for the head first.

hair jigs and jerkbaits....no sudden jerks and pause it for a loooong time

for me it depends what i am throwing, i am starting to use a spinning reel more, but i can throw anything with a baitcaster it just depends on your comfortability

i have one of the older curados and it will throw anything to a point but using a lighter tackle seems to work better with spinning outfits

i just use booyah hair jigs the weed guard that came with mine were on the long side so u could trim them to any length u wanted

i can hit any spot with a baitcaster but a spinning combo is more of a challenge. i very slightly keep my finger on the spool as i cast and if there is a need i can stop the line.
