Almost two years since the passing of our two dogs, we started to look at rescue groups to adopt a puppy! We found HART, homeless animal rescue team. A little of mix breed puppies was rescued from a high kill shelter and were put on their website for adoption. We filled out an application and planned to attend the next adoption event. Their events are very well run with an all volunteer staff and an unbelievable number of people that foster dogs and cats until perminant homes can be found. To adopt a pet from HART, you must complete the adoption form, go thru 2 interviews, have a vet check ( to make sure all of you previous and current pets were/are well cared for and current on vaccinations ) as well as a home visit!! This is Maple, she is supposedly a lab/border collie mix. At about 12 weeks old, she weighs almost 25lbs! She is such a good little puppy, already crate trained and on her way to being completely potty trained!

Bag of chips moment............ every day! I want to be the best, strive to be the best! But in the end, humility wins out and I am happier for it. My thinking has always been treat others as you would like to be treated and for the most part, it will work out in the end. Have I come up against those that are still in denial of their moment?, every day. I just wish them the best and try not to let them impact my chi!!

The first gen cielo is a great rod if you can still find them. I believe they were built on a steez blank. I have no intel on the second gen.

I've used it. 20lb is a little on the unmanageable side even with KVD. I was happy dropping down to 17lb flipping jigs and was much happier! Have you looked at the Seaguar red label, I switched over to that after my experiment with the pro elite and like it a lot better! Couple more bucks but you can find it on sale from time to time.

Let me tell you what I know about Sonny (nitrofreak), he has got to be, hands down, one of the most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! He had mentioned in a couple posts that he would love to get on a great jig bite and I offered to take him to Burke Lake early last December and see if we could find them in the brush piles. Little did I know they were about to draw the lake down about 12' to do some upgrades to the dam. Not that we couldn't fish with the water the way it was but I wanted to really get on some good fish with him. We decided to hit the Occoquan reservoir instead. We caught some fish and we ran around the res and did some sight seeing as I pointed out some of what the res had to offer. What I will remember the most is the absolute joy it was getting to know Sonny! We swaped stories about families and friends, our great experiences here on BR and of course what we both enjoy about fishing!! The biggest thing that stands out in my mind the most that day was , Sonny was excited when he caught fish, but was equally excited when I did as well! Sonny, you are always welcome in my boat, just remember it's very narrow, don't fall in!! lol!!

Now I need to find me some, brings back memories! Some of my first good catches were on the bigger mepps in line spinners and found some snag less sallies and caught even bigger fish!! Most fun burning them just under the surface around cover!!
