  1. I want to get better at locating fish. I've caught them on just about everything this year, just not the numbers I'd like to see. I also want to fish some different waters. Brute

Welcome from a fellow Floridian. Brute
  3. I caught the same exact fish 2 weeks in a row. He had a rectangular bloody scar about 2" x 3" on his side. Gator bite maybe? It was good to see it healing the next week. Brute

  5. Not enough yet. Can you hear me know santa.
  6. What's winterizing? I thought that meant packing a jacket in the boat for those chilly mornings.
  7. I will probably spend between 1000-2000 next year. It depends on how good Santa is to me in a couple of weeks. I got a new boat this year, so it will be a long time before I spend as much as I did this year. I still have room for more rods and reels. ;D ;D ;D Brute
  8. What time does the store open? Wow. Brute

  10. Living in Florida and feeling ignorant because I don't know what a snow brush or shovel is or what it is used for. ;D ;D ;D
  11. This is my largest of the year. I did not have my scale with me , but I think it went about 5.5 lbs. But because of my last post. it has to be at least 4lb 11.1oz ;D
  12. Here is a picture of my wife's PB caught earlier this year 4lb 11oz. Brute
  13. Hey MAMan, I have been using 2 of the sedonas for aboout 6 months. I know here are better reels out there, but I have no complaints about mine at all. Brute
  14. If you really want the BEST. Get it powdercoated. Not cheap but will last a long time. Brute
  15. Welcome Capt Jim P. Where around Tampa have you been fishing. I live in Clearwater and have been spending a lot of time on Lake Tarpon. I am finally starting to figure out where the fish are. I am looking forward to trying some new spots and maybe I'll see you out there. Brute
  16. This doesn't feel anything like the grass I've been catching. What do I do? Brute
  17. Hi jchello, Welcome to Tampa. I live in Clearwater but work in Tampa. I am not the guy to be asking for advice, but I have been doing pretty good on Lake Tarpon lately. I am still reading all of the posts on here and trying to soak it all in. I would love to break the 10 lb mark also. Right now my best is 5.5 lbs. My wife caught a 4lb 11 oz lmb about a month ago. I have an occasional empty seat on my boat if you are interested. The only advice I can give is to keep trying. Maybe I will see you some day and we can wet some lines together. Brute
  18. Thanks IronJack, I am looking forward to trying some other places. I drove past lake Parker a couple of weeks ago and thought that it looked good. I know what you mean when you say 'Bout got blown across the lake. You must not have been there when it was real Breeeeeezy. Sure does give your trolling moter a work out. Brute
  19. The Bait Monkey got my wife also a couple of weeks ago. She was in Charlotte visiting our daughter and stopped in the BPS there. she called me to see if there was anything that I wanted from there. I gave her a specific lure and color, and she walked out of there with $50.00 worth of stuff for me. Thank you Bait Monkey. Oh, and thank you Honey. Brute
  20. Hey Stingray23, Yes they will finance a new boat for a longer period of time than a new car. I bought a new Bass Tracker in July and they would have financed it for 12 years with no money down. The boat was only $13,500 with everything so I guess they really want to sell. Brute
  21. Welcome IronJack. Where in Tampa did you used to fish? I live in Clearwater and have been fishing a lot on Lake Tarpon. Sure could use a few pointers if you used to tread on that lake. Brute
  22. I got 2 of them about 6 weeks ago from Cabelas for $124.95 each. I usually look at their website 2 or 3 times a week. I have been wanting these for a long time but just couldn't see paying $249.95 each. I guess I got lucky. Mine are the right handed version and the very next day, all righties were sold out. Brute
  23. I haven't, but when I was young my brother did. We we're fishing for bluegill using red worms and bobbers. He landed a solid 3" bass on the worm only ( that's 3 inches ) The little feller really wanted that worm bad. He was just hanging onto the end of the worm with all his might. Man those big ones sure put up a fight. Brute
  24. I got my first boat this year and have fished more in the last 3 month's than I typically did in an entire year. I got to spend a lot of time with my brother fishing. I caught my pb bass of an estimated 5.5 lbs. I bought my first scale after that bass so I will know better next time. I brought my wife fishing and watched her catch her first ever bass. I think the best thing had to be the smile on her face when she caught a 4 lb 11 oz bass ( confirmed with the previously mention scale). Priceless. Brute
