  1. No prob. I guess I could have worded my post better...
  2. Those Loomis are nice but pricey. I got my compre used from this flea market for $60 shipped! Hell of a deal imo.
  3. I was just thinking about my first casting rod earlier, a 6' m/f compre with the full cork handle, and was wondering why companies dont produce them this short anymore. I absolutely loved that rod and used it for for everything. Casting distance was pretty good and balanced extremely well with a citica d. I regret sending it in for replacement for a chipped tip guide because shimano send me a 6'9 replacement. Life moves on, but why such long rods as a minimum length?
  4. I lol'd at belieber. A tape measure and fish weight calculator can give you a better estimate on weight without a scale. Nice fish for sure.
  5. Welp, I dug out one of my old 10" craftsman tool bags and threw everything in there. It's a bit messy but it works since I don't carry much anyway. I also have an old 2" nylon tool belt I run through the handles to use as a shoulder strap. I'll still keep an eye out for something else.
  6. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. The 3700 is a bit large for my style and would really prefer a 3500 sized bag. Checked out the medic bags on the net and they are pretty expensive for what they are imo. Not going to war here, just the lake. Gonna try to make it to the surplus shop today.
  7. My 3 yo has a princess combo. She beats it up pretty good. I wouldn't bother with anything more than that or trust her with hooks unless I'm right next to her. After 10 or 15 mins of her "fishing", she's chasing ducks or trying to get into the water. We do practice casting in the living room though. She likes it and that's what counts imo.
  8. My secret weapons are 4" gycb cut tails, super fluke Jr's and roboworm alive shad and straight tails. If I can't get bit on any of those, the fish arnt there. And even though they are small finesse baits, I've caught the most and my biggest bass and peacocks on these.

Perfect. I have 20/6 braid with 6# leader on that rod. I'll look into his videos. $10 is about the most I'll tie on the end of my line. I've lost so many baits to snags, trees and line breakage it's ridiculous. Since then I've been mainly a soft plastics guy, lol.
  10. Lol yeah my fishing trips are limited to a few hours at most so I don't need to bring everything with me. I've been very happy with my current bag but I just can't fit anything else. Currently I fit hooks, small assortment of weights, shakey heads, a few hard baits, spool of leader material and 4 bags of plastics. That thing is packed. The tools go in my pockets. I had a military gas mask pouch that would of been perfect but that thing disappeared between moves. I'll look into the medic bags. There is a surplus store not too far from me.

I spent like $12 on it with plans to fish it on my ml/f spinning rod. They seem pretty versatile. Never fished a jointed bait like this aside from rapalas but the hardware seems solid and it does look great even though it's the silver fish flavor.
  12. So I've been rocking a fanny pack slung over my shoulder for my tackle but this year I'm really going to give hardbaits a try again and I just can't fit anymore in there. Along my search for a slightly larger bag I came across this http://www.planomolding.com/product.php?BCCID=112&PID=672 The included boxes are a plus but not really needed. I've used a sack pack in the past but didn't really like the lack of pockets. Does anyone else use small soft sided bags? Suggestions?

I've always wanted to try one out so I snagged one up off fleabay just because. What does everyone think of this bait? Favorite way to fish them?
  14. Lol. I stay only a few miles from the homestead air force base. They don't fly over often, but when they do, it's c130s and fighter Jets just over my roof.

I can dig it. I would of kept mine if I could find ammo. They're really fun to mod and even more fun to shoot.
  16. X2 on the above. Braid will also last much longer and won't deteriorate over time when it's not being used.
  17. Appreciate it. I'm looking into the 2 piece model as an all around rod. I mainly throw small trigs but want something that could handle senkos and flukes as well.
  18. How's the backbone on the m/f? Enough for single hook baits?
