When do smallies spawn in northern Illinois?
Rock River? Spawn should be starting any day now if it hasn't already and go on another 4-5 weeks inland. Water temps are the key. On Lake Michigan, figure late April to mid May

First time Prop removed
How tight? You're just supposed to snug up the castle nut then back it off before installing the cotter pin.

Almost done
I was thinking I might be stern heavy. I'll see what happens after the maiden voyage.

The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
Friday was grandmas birthday. We hosted a party with the kids, their other halves, and the grandson. My daughter requested mojito's. NEVER AGAIN!!! Too much work involved for a crappy drink. The girls said I made them very good. I thought they didn't taste any differently than the new canned seltzer/alcohol drinks that people are buying. Had 1 mojito and switched to bourbon.

Almost done
I figured you would. My grandson want me to take him fishing for catfish. He's obsessed with them. Bunks came from Eastern Marine. They have them in various lengths from 2 foot on up. 3/16 aluminum flat stock I might do 2 chairs. One on the back and one on the 3rd from the back for dad.

Almost done
She's finished. I'm going to name her "It'll do" List of upgrades: Trailer bunks, trailer lights, wheels/tires, wheel bearings, jack, winch, new seats and transom, Garmin Echomap, battery, battery box. All the upgrades installed with SS hardware. The motor is a 1960s 15hp Evinrude I bought for another 14footer maybe 8 or 10 years ago. It started on the 3rd pull with new fuel and a bottle of seafoam.

Goooood Pizza
Deep dish baby....I like a well done thin crust. There's a new pizza joint my dad and I have been going to on a regular basis that has a Detroit style which I had never heard of I guess it's trendy in Chicago. Tried it last Tuesday. I guess I would call it focaccia pizza. It was more like a pizza bread. Good but not my cup of tea.

Goooood Pizza
I'm in the pizza capital of the world. There's plenty of bad pizza to be found and it all goes back to the ingredients, primarily the dough and the sauce which will make or break any pizza.

Goooood Pizza
Love the oven.... But I hate to burst your bubble, good pizza is about the ingredients, not the oven.

New boat prices
It's the reason I sold the Lund now. Trade in value on boats suck. This year, the trade in value was $12K less than I sold the boat for. Once the used market is flooded, Trade in's will be worth nothing. I'll fish a year or two out of the $400 pond hopper I bought and hopefully score a great deal on a big rig in the near future.

Prime rib...
For any beef roast, I use generous amounts of minced garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme. The meat needs to be at room temp before throwing it uncovered in a 500* oven. Cook 20-25 minutes at 500* then shut the oven off and let it sit for the next 2 hours. Do not open the door.

Rate the song above you
Can't say I ever cared for King Diamond's voice. Hank Sherman and Michael Denner from Mercyful Fate were a fantastic guitar duo.

Pressure Washers
For small or infrequent use an electric one is fine. I have maybe a 10 year old Craftsman with a Briggs & Stratton 7.5 hp motor that I bought because the electric one I owned prior crapped out after a couple years.

Schumacher SC1360 Boiled Battery
Maybe it's the charger, maybe it's the battery, maybe it's both. Return them both and start fresh. Wish I could help otherwise. I went to high school with NHRA great Tony Schumacher and hung out in in his fathers garage 40 years ago when his father was just a battery charger guy. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't remember me.
