Snitches get stiches. My home water has no secret spots. Multiple tournaments held every weekend and if you don't run into at least half the competitors during an 8 hour day, then it's YOU that is fishing in the wrong spots. First come first serve and the right cast at the right time, come to mind. Now, my panfish lakes....if word got out to the bucketheads, the lakes would be decimated. In 25 years of fishing them, I have only told 3 people about the lakes and believe me it was difficult to even do that. If you look at my past panfish reports, the pics are of the livewell and/or the sink. If I mentioned where I caught them, it was always my home water, never Lake Menderchuck.

The 3 casinos in the Chicagoland area are in the burbs. 2 of them in so so neighborhoods are both landlocked boats. Originally, when they first allowed casinos in Illinois, they had to be on water. You'd make a reservation for a 2 hour "cruise" which meant the boat would motor to the middle of the river and sit for 2 hours before motoring back to the dock. The newest one is in what i would call a convention/shopping/hotel district 5 minutes from Ohare Airport. They keep most of the riffraff out.

Lake Michigan has been like that the last few days. We had 40mph NE winds yesterday.10-15 footers on the south end.

It's 3/4". I used 2 pieces sandwiched together for the transom and 3/4" for the outside support. I'll have to check the spacing on the clamps to see if 3" will work. Although it wouldn't be in contact with the aluminum, i haven't heard anything positive about using pressure treated wood anywhere near an aluminum hull.

If that's the case, what wood would be the best option? It will get painted of course. I'm not going to drop another 75.00 on marine plywood for what would be the equivalent of a 1×4×12"

Replacing the wood on the new yacht. The 50 year old transom is 1-1/2" thick. There was a 1/2" plywood support on the outside of the transom for the motor to rest on. Question I have is there was also a 3/8" thick piece on the inside where the motor would clamp to. This, to me, looks like it was an after thought, maybe added to a weakened transom, but I'm not sure. Rather than being thru bolted with stainless hardware it was screwed in with run of the mill wood screws Am I correct in my assumption or do I need to add this piece as well?

$305.00 for title and plates. Couldn't even get a real plate, only temporary. The trailer title is from 1980 and not in the system. Had to fill out paperwork that gets sent to Springfield. I paid $400 for the boat and trailer and paid $333 in IL corruption fees just to make it legal.

There is a river 10 minutes from my house that I haven't fished since I bought the Lund in 2013. The Lund was too big to launch. My waypoints were "The 3 legged dog" "The Living room" "The iron worker" and "The **** crows" It wasn't about navigation, but just smallmouth fishing spots.
