What you say is very true. When I was younger, I wore a PFD less often. Now that I'm older and half crippled, I put on the inflatable and wear it all day.

My Lund is black. Yes it shows scratches. The gunwales get extremely hot and will burn you if you're not careful. As far as hot when it comes to fishing, I think that is more of a carpet color option. Lund has/had 2 different grey options. A light and a dark.

Repairing a prop is considerably less expensive than purchasing new. Look up prop repair in your area or ask the local marinas or boat dealers.

When my mother turned 75, she began asking everyone in the immediate family what they wanted of her possessions when she died. I told her the only thing I wanted was for her and dad to get their estate in order as it hadn't been updated since 1995. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago(5 years later), dad has updated the estate and POA's, DNR, etc. I'm expecting mom to pass in the next 24 hours or so. I have to update my estate as my son was a minor when it was originally done and mom was my designated POA. I guess I'm fortunate that my immediate family has a strong bond. Can't say the same about the extended family. Lesson learned. Dad's sister passed away 6 months ago. My father was the sole beneficiary of her estate but was not named as beneficiary on any of her accounts. He went thru all sorts of red tape, and still is, trying to finalize the estate. A word of advice for anyone who wants to listen. Estate planning with a CPA prior to the end is a much easier way to get thru the financial BS. It's one less thing your loved ones will need to worry about when your time is up.

Spot on the spot, retrieve on the retrieve. I was fishing an underwater island in Sturgeon Bay. I was on the south end and another boat was on the north end. We were casting towards each other. I was catching pike. They were catching smallies. Literally fishing the same underwater island only presentation was from different directions. CANNOT tell you how frustrating that was.

Depends on my goals. If I'm fishing for big bites in my home water, it's jigs. If I'm fishing for numbers in my home water, it's not jigs.

The issue is how patient are you. Did you spook the school? Did they move? Did they turn off? Did an outside influence change the bite? My home water, in general, doesn't have schooling fish. If they are schooling, it's really obvious and predictable. The average depth of the river system I fish is 4ft deep. Bass schooling occurs during the carp and catfish hatch, and it is definitely a site to see. Watching the bass ball up a pod of minnows and take pot shots at them is better than anything you'd see on Discovery Channel. If I'm tournament fishing, it's a judgement call. First thing I do is change it up. If that doesn't work, it's time to go. If I'm fun fishing, it doesn't matter.

I waited for the Tundra redesign for 10 years. Traded in my 2008 Tundra I bought new in 2007, with 200k miles for a 2017 SuperDuty I bought new in 2018. I got sick of waiting. Toyota makes a great product. Unfortunately, they feel the vehicles market themselves. Their sales peaked in 2007 with the new design and new powerplant. Sales have been stagnant the last 6 years. The truck was due for a major redesign in 2017

Another tragedy where a pfd could have changed the outcome.

Our rivers are high in IL. A week ago we got 5 inches of rain in about a 36hr period. That, combined with whatever rainfall Wisconsin got has some of our rivers in the northern part of the state near flood stage. Unlike many southern impoundments, our rivers are relatively shallow. The damns are used for flood control rather than generating power. I can't comment on the Kankakee as far as levels as the town is about 90 minutes south of me. Both the Des Plaines and Fox rivers are high. My home water is part of the Fox and the river near the dams is currently closed to boating as a result of last weeks rain.
