  1. My son bought a house on the lake back in February. I did launch. There's a 10hp restriction, but as long as my big motor prop was out of the water, I am legal. I just used the big motor at the ramp, TM the rest of the day. First time I have ever fished the lake. The big one was on a jerkbait. The other one as well as the shorts we caught were on swimjigs and wackyrig
  2. I've been talking on and off to a Ranger dealer about a walleye boat. The story I heard was when Johnny took over he removed the incentive process that Ranger had in place which was giving high volume dealers dealers free boats. Let's say a dealer sells 20 boats a year and only pays for 19. He is in a better place to negotiate over a dealer that sells 15 boats a year but pays for all 15. That being said. I built my Ranger with the dealer on Rangers boat builder. Printed out the pricing. He said when I was ready, we would talk real pricing. I bought my Lund new and paid 17% below boat builder. This was back in 2013. In the current state of affairs, selling inventory is going to trump the financing. Our state has been shut down for most of the boat buying season. Dealers will want to move inventory. OP are you buying a $5k jon/utility boat/motor/trailer or putting down $5k on a nice boat? If you are financing, do your due diligence and research both the boats and the dealers that will be servicing the boat.
  3. It's easier to pit different dealers that sell the same brand against each other. Tracker does not negotiate. Other brands use nationally advertised pricing to prevent people from driving to other states to make purchases. That doesn't mean they won't negotiate. Your best bet at negotiation is to find a high volume dealer with the boat you want in stock. High volume dealers can generally purchase the boats at a lower cost than low volume dealers, and/or get other spiffs from the manufacturer.
  4. Wonder if a stiff plastic brush would work
  5. Depends who I am fishing with. Alone or with my son, it's bass and artificial bait. With dad or grandson, it's multispecies and live bait. Any fisherman who wants to be at the top of their game should really pay attention to the habits of all the gamefish species in their waters.
  6. Very nice. Why are you looking at changing brands?
  7. Couple from Island Lake this morning. Water temp 53*
  8. Nice. Does the Adventure have a recessed tray for the pedal?
  9. Zatarans is my favorite breading
  10. Ex wife had the 1976 Charger back in high school when we started dating. Had the 318 and it moved. Not a common car at all, most people bought the Chrysler Cordoba.
  11. The problem is not the 5.3, it's the 3.23 gears. Those are fuel economy gears, not towing up and down hill gears.
  12. Every day that passes we will never get back. Every hour, every minute. Gone. Figure out your priorities.
  13. You been drinking? I...maybe have
  14. and don't forget oil and trans cooler options
  15. Do they have a 3.73 option? It's going to hurt your mileage but I think you'd be much better off in hilly terrain.
  16. Started my garden last week. Was a good time because April showers are holding true
  17. Before doing that, I would try a heat gun gently as to not melt the carpet. Any chemical he puts on it could bleed thru the carpet and loosen the glue holding the carpet to the deck.
  18. At least he got a haircut. I'm starting to look like I did in the 70's only with grey hair
  19. If you are saving fish for consumption, get a cooler and just throw them on ice
  20. In all seriousness, I've been using the structurehead jigs for a few years now on creature baits. Hookup percentage is better than any other jig presentation. Injuries to the bass are up as well. I can say I have had more bass hooked thru the eye on a structurehead than any other bait.
  21. Buy used. Buy from somebody that got the itch and then lost the itch.
  22. I have only used it with craws and creature baits. Learned about it a few years ago when Zona was fishing Lake Menderchuck
  23. Did someone say Chupacabra?
  24. Preach it Dwight. Numbers are very accurate except during the spawn
  25. I first learned about Slug-O in the early 90's. I can tell you the exact lake as well. I was a shore fisherman at the time and was walking a forest preserve lake with my son. A guy was walking back to the parking lot with a stringer of keeper bass. I asked him what he was using and went out and bought them later that week.
