Got this idea from another forum I follow. Post beverages with pics, reviews, what you like/dislike etc. I'll start. Vodka Gimlet. Had my first one ever last week while on vacation with dad.- Humminbird 898C HD SI
Did you call Humminbird tech support?- Coping with the crowds this year
My home water is the busiest inland waterway per acre in the US. I'm used to the crowds. Start early finish early is the best advice I can give.- new boat - trim issues
The alternator will give enough juice to the trim gauge that it should work whether the battery is fully charged or not. Sounds like you just have a bad gauge. As far as a new cranking battery, there should be a date code on the battery. If it doesn't say Xmonth 2020 on it, I'd ask for a new one. Ideally, you should have a charger with a bank for every battery you have on the boat. Unless you're making long runs everything you go out, your charging battery isn't getting charged.- Good but reasonably priced polarized glasses?
Polarized fishing glasses, cheap or expensive, are designed to not let the light in, which is why they smudge and fog up. Amber is good for low light and grey for bluebird skies.- Post a photo a day!
I hope he isn't paying you guide fees to get put on dinks...? I'm hoping to get my grandson out this weekend to put him on some gills. Little guy is going to be 3 next month.- New PB Smallmouth
Some nice brownies. Pretty sure I hooked up with your sister- The letter E
Stupid keyboard....The letter E is double tapping about 3/4 of the time. I've got better things to do with my life than deleting an extra "E" from all these words...- Eatin' a little humble pie--difference between pond and reservoir fishing
Yes but... In the grand scheme of things, all we are looking for onshore and offshore structure/cover that may hold fish. Ideally we should be able to break down large bodies of water into small sections, and then just use the process of elimination to find the most productive water. The biggest thing that perplexes me right now is why do fish abandon areas? Areas that may have been hot for a few years are ghost towns. For example, I run across abandon bluegill beds. Haven't been bedded in years. What happened? Today I found bass cruising the abandon bluegill beds. It was obvious they haven't been bedded in a few years. Were the bass "fishing history" like so many of us do? Another area that was hot for a few years, then not for a few years is hot again. What gives?- $64,000 Question ~
Do senkos not work?- $64,000 Question ~
I might have enough baits to last me another 10 years. Haven't bought much of anything in the last 3 years. In my defense, I always bought in bulk. I'd buy 50 or 100 jigs and matching trailers at one time. If one jerkbait is good, ten is better. When you do this year after year, you build up quite a collection. I have (4) 44qt totes and (4) 1 gallon ziplocks full of soft plastics that are in the boat. Maybe (20) 3700 boxes with hard baits as well. I could probably gain 5mph on my top end if I didn't carry around so much crap.- $64,000 Question ~
- Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Fox chain today. Water 74-79. Landed 16 bass, 4 small keepers (1) 3-1/2lb fish and the rest 12-13". Lost one that I'm sure was over 5lbs. Swimjigs, creature baits and wacky worms.- $64,000 Question ~
More times than you really want to know.- Shelter in place Ribs
Got some spare ribs on the pellet grill right now- $64,000 Question ~
When will I catch a fish so big, that when I tell of it afterward, I won't need to lie about how big it was?- Rate the song above you
- Saw a bald eagle today
It got me emotional. I might see them once or twice a year or not at all. With all that has been happening in the last 2 months...2 weeks...around the U.S. I felt sad, I felt good. What made it more special is I was just outside Green Bay and I was wearing a Chicago Bears t-shirt. The stars were aligned. I believe I'm not alone here on BR in saying we'll get thru this and we'll come out stronger than ever. Be true to yourself and be loyal to your morals and values. We live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Never forget that.- Sturgeon Bay smallies (pics)
Very few cruising fish and the cruisers were small, 14-15". Most fish were 3-4lbs with one at 5. All males, bigger fish pulled off beds. Water temps ranged from 64-69* in Sturgeon Bay and Little Sturgeon and 59-60* 40 miles north in Ephraim. All the big fish were caught in the cooler water. Dads fish were caught on live bait, mine on a combo of swim jigs, jerk baits, creature baits and wacky worms. 3 day total of fish, 30 smallmouth, a dozen or so rock bass, 3 perch, and 1 goby.- Lightning, my uninvited house guest
Holy schnikeys!- Sturgeon Bay smallies (pics)
