  1. Welcome from another guy from the west burbs. There's an IL thread located in the Northeast forums titled "Where are the IL guys at?"
  2. slonezp replied to Todd2's topic in Fishing Tackle
    White is always an option.
  3. They are very spooky. If they can see you, forget about getting bit.
  4. It was a bit nippy this morning.
  5. Amazon has new 8' Talons for under $1200. It's hard to find deals on the brackets.
  6. Mine is in storage. I use the hand control only
  7. Made it back up to Delavan today. Bite was a lot slower than a few weeks ago, but we couldn't fish aggressively because my dad came along. He's not up for standing and casting all day. Got a handful of pike and bass. Bass averaged 15"-16", and the pike were all under 24". My son lost a good pike, probably over 10lbs. We saw it jump a couple times after it broke off trying to throw the spinnerbait. Here's the big bass of the day, pushing 20". He got it on a chatterbait
  8. The real sad thing is many people value animal life more than they do human life.
  9. You might want to stop while you're ahead
  10. Northstar has a great selection of colors. I keep my color selection to just a few. Makes it much easier to choose when I'm on the water. The majority in the pic are 3/8 bull gill swimjigs. They have been a top producer for me, and even won me big bass a couple times. Picked up some nice walleye as well with them. Darn pike have been biting them off lately, so it was time to stock up.
  11. I beg to differ. I didn't see any potato's, onions, breading ,or hot oil.
  12. I ordered a couple new colors this time along with my tried and true. Chris recommend wrotten banana as a goby imitation. Figured I'd give it a try for some Door County smallies. No need to be jealous. I'm sure he has plenty left for you to buy.
  13. Doesn't do you any good lying on the floor.
  14. I believe there is a way to reverse the head on the motor, and there are also companies that make an adaptor to mount a transom mount on the bow of a boat. I don't know if it would work on a pond prowler.
  15. Thank you Northstar for another fine looking batch of jigs.
  16. That's huge, but a 40 second fight? You'd think you'd get more fight out of it.
  17. THE JEWISH SAMURAI Once upon a time, a powerful Emperor of the Rising Sun advertised for a new Chief Samurai. After a year, only three applied for the job: a Japanese, a Chinese and a Jew. "Demonstrate your skills!" commanded the Emperor. The Japanese samurai stepped forward, opened a tiny box, and released a fly. He drew his samurai sword and Swish! the fly fell to the floor, neatly divided in two! "What a feat!" said the Emperor. "Number Two Samurai, show me what you do." The Chinese samurai smiled confidently, stepped forward and opened a tiny box, releasing a fly. He drew his samurai sword and Swish! Swish! The fly fell to the floor neatly quartered."That is skill!" nodded the Emperor."How are you going to top that, Number three Samurai?" The Jewish samurai, Obi-wan Cohen, stepped forward, opened a tiny box releasing one fly, drew his samurai sword and Swoooooosh! flourished his sword so mightily that a gust of wind blew through the room. But the fly was still buzzing around! In disappointment, the Emperor said, "What kind of skill is that? The fly isn't even dead." "Dead?" replied the Jewish Samurai. ......"Dead is easy. But Circumcision...?!"

  19. It wasn't a moment. It was over the period of a few months. My grandfather had fishing in his blood, and fished for whatever was biting. He taught me how to use a baitcaster in the yard and he would do a secret indian dance when the fish weren't biting to call the smallmouth bass in close enough to our lines that they would see the soft shelled crayfish and bite. He was diagnosed with lung cancer which soon spread to his pancreas. I took him out quite a bit over those few months while he was still strong enough to walk. I took him to spots where I knew he'd catch fish and wouldn't have to work for it.. Kind of like taking a kid fishing for the first time. He held onto the passion to fish until the day he died. The last time we went out, I had to bait the hook for him and take the fish off. We were catching sunfish and small largemouth and he told me how happy he was that the smallmouth were biting. I think someone's cutting onions
