Fluro+Lost Lures=Money Wasted
I have used the well spit on palomar knot for years without issue on decent quality flouro. Key words being decent quality. I've settled on Seaguar Abrazix as my current line of choice. I dislike Vanish and Trilene 100%. Seaguar Invizix is ok. BPS is crap. Haven't used much else that I can remember at this time.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
AC has a membership as well, but there are no formal meetings. Everything is done at the ramp. The nice thing is you can pay one annual membership and fish any division you want, only paying the entry fee. I don't know if there's Anglers Dream near you. There entry fee is less and it seems to be run ok. My son has a couple of buddies who fish it. The only thing I don't like is the local tournament director fishes and runs the weigh in. Just doesn't seem right.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Anglers Choice dropped the wild card for 2014. Just showing up doesn't cut it anymore. You now have to qualify with points. They still give out 3 boats at the TOC. 1st, 2nd, and a draw boat. The "big" money is mostly thru side pots. There's been roughly 200 boats at the TOC the past few years. Don't know if that's going to change, with the change in the wild card. I've been fishing AC for around 6 years now. It's pretty well run.

What brand flouro? They are not all created equal.

Don't Forget To Retie
You did right by tossing it. Aside from it's castability and sensitivity, I hated it. It floats, it's highly visible, knot issues, and the zebra mussels would shred it apart.

What Else Do You Target?
Walleye and panfish for food, pike and musky on accident, king salmon because you HAVEN'T fought a freshwater fish until you've hooked into a 25lb+ Great Lakes Chinook.

Don't Forget To Retie
Be glad you don't fish in zebra mussel infested waters. Instead of checking every few fish, it's every few casts.

Don't Forget To Retie
That line sounds like Nonofil. The only knot recommended for it is the double palomar.

Children's Toys
Remember the Evel Kenival stunt cycle? It was a heavy duty plastic, metal and rubber bike. You had to put it on a wind up launcher and it would run like 500mph across the house into the dog and his hair would get tangled in it and mom would have to cut it out of the dog while he just sat there with a stupid look on his face and dad would yell and beat us with the Hot Wheels track and we would repeat this day after day after day. Poor dog

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Is that a 5500 C3 I see on deck? I used them exclusively until about 4 or 5 years ago. Now I just use it for the A-rig. Built to last forever. My boats in the shop. They're replacing the trailer brakes under warranty. I should have it back by Wednesday. I'm itching to get out. Nice haul by the way.

I Cant Figure The It Of Drop Shotting
I've been using the VMC dropshot hooks with Gulp minnows with some success. Locating fish on the graph is essential.

Any Mechanics Here?
BC, School will teach you theory. 99% of your education will be on the job. Machines act differently under real world conditions, and the scenarios for mechanical failure are endless. You'll also need a good understanding of electricity and electronics as most everything in todays vehicles are controlled or affected buy the computer. I'm a mechanic but I don't work on cars. I fix commercial refrigeration units. Might be another option you'd consider. I'm not stuck in the same place everyday working on the same equipment. I get to work by myself. I get to work outdoors most of the time (Yeah, even during extreme heat and cold) and if you're good, it pays pretty well. I don't know what auto mechanics make, but there's a potential to make 6 figures as an hvac/r tech. Plenty of downsides too, but I won't bore you with those.

Pay Fishing
This statement is not about fishing. Tournament angling is not about the fish. It's about competition and camaraderie.

Pay Fishing
Is the bass fisherman really the target market? Or is it the trophy hunter? I also think location would play a big role. For instance a guy drags his family to Orlando for a week and wants to get away from the kids for a day. This would be a good option. Also as I mentioned earlier a corporate retreat. I don't forsee Joe Fisherman planning a fishing vacation on a pay lake, unless it was maybe all inclusive. I could rent a cabin on a southern reservoir, that has trophy fish, and split it with a couple buddies and it would be less than $100 a day. When I travel to fish, I really don't need much in the way of accommodations. A place to park the boat, a bed, indoor plumbing, a small fridge, and working hvac. I could do without the bells and whistles because we're on the water 12 hours a day.

The New Boat Should Be Here In 3 Weeks. I Can't Take It Anymore!
Yeah, but does it catch fish? After the break in period, drive it like you stole it

Jarts are back on the market again. We used to line up clay pigeons on the lawn and throw the Jarts at them
