If you fillet them, which I prefer, don't keep any smaller than 8 or 9 inches. Too hard to clean. I normally hit them pre spawn and fill up the freezer for the res of the year. Can't beat deep fried. I'll make sandwiches too. Toast, mayo, and a couple fried filets.

Don't think theres much wrong with any of the brands you've listed. It's going to come back to how well the boat was taken care of. When you find a boat your interested in, check nadaguides to compare pricing. It's the kelly blue book for boats and rv's. You'd be suprised the big difference between asking price and average retail. I'm looking too and I'm finding boats listed anywhere from 3k-10k over average retail. Keep in mind, a trolling motor and average electronics add no value to the boat. Make sure you have a trusted mechanic look at it. Boats newer than 2008 may or may not still have warranty left on the motor. Good luck

6 and a halfish is my biggest LM. Around 5 for my biggest SM. I can't believe a 7b smallie would fight much different than a 5 lbr, but I'm sure a 12lb largie would be quite a different fight than my PB. The LM is a prettier fish also. More visually apealling. Even though I believe the smallie is a much scrappier fighter, my vote is largemouth.

Best info I could find is animal traps baited with apples and peanut butter. They also are detered by coyote urine, cayenne pepper and garlic pepper. Maybe you could put a few tupperware filled with pepper in the boat, and poke some holes in them. Trying to get a urine sample from a coyote might be difficult. Otherwise aerating the water and getting rid of the vegetation they feed on, but I'm not sure how feasible that would be..
