  1. Once you get a boat there are many other costs involved Large enough vehicle to tow the boat Registration License plate for the trailer. Insurance If the boat is going to have a gas motor on it and you plan on fishing with a partner you should have some type of liability insurance to protect yourself from a mishap. Launch fees PFD's, throables, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, flare gun, etc Maintenance/repair on the motor and trailer. Storage You're going to want some type of electronics and a trolling motor Anchor and ropes Possibly rod holders if you plan on trolling or pan fishing with more than 1 rod Props Shallow water fishing = prop repair Time I live an hour drive minimum from anywhere I can launch my boat without worry. I have a smallie river 15 minutes away but I've destroyed too many props on my deep v the last few years. I have a 15hp motor sitting in my garage waiting fo a jon boat to put it on. and so on... I bought my first boat at 24 with a friend of mine because I couldn't afford it on my own. That's not a good idea either. Trust me. Good luck

  5. Are you talking about Tackle the Storm from Don Barone?
  6. Has the battery in your car ever blown up? What's the difference between an alternator charging a car battery and a portable charger charging a boat battery? Todays chargers are smarter than those of yesteryear. Set the charger for the proper battery type, plug it in and let it do its job. Tell the wife no need to worry. This is for the stupid people out there because we have a litigious society

  8. That's awsome clayton Last night on a plane back home from Dallas to Tyler, I was sitting with a friend I've known for many years, talking about church and a whole lot of political things. Being a US Congressman, Louie visits a lot of different churches in the area throughout the year and he told me of what happened in a local church on this past Easter that made me roll with laughter, to the point of tears. The pastor of this Baptist church had called all of the little children to the front of the church, dressed in their cute Easter outfits and had them sit around him. He said "Today is Easter and you all look so handsome and beautiful. Today we're going to talk about the resurrection. Does anyone know what the resurrection is?" One little boy raised his hand, and the pastor said "Please tell us what the resurrection is". The boy, proud that he knew the answer, said in a clear loud voice "When you get one lasting more than four hours, you gotta call a doctor!"

Bassn Blvd, I have a Chucky doll you can borrow to terrorize your own boy. You'll have to pick up the cookies locally. I bought the doll for my stepdaughter in the mid to late 90's. Her and I used to sit up at night and watch old horror movies, and go to the theater to catch the new releases. She's 23 now and I kinda miss spending that time together with her. Anyway, she kept the doll in her room for a short time then it made its way to the basement. I'd put it back in her room and it always made its way back to the basement. Tried giving it to my neice a couple years ago. She wanted nothing to do with it. Chucky now sits alone in the spare bedroom. Kinda sad...

  17. One day a man decided to retire... He booked himself on a Caribbean cruise and proceeded to have the time of his life, that is, until the ship sank. He soon found himself on an island with no other people, no supplies, nothing, only bananas and coconuts. After about four months, he is lying on the beach one day when the most gorgeous woman he has ever seen rows up to the shore. In disbelief, he asks, "Where did you come from? How did you get here?" She replies, "I rowed over from the other side of the island where I landed when my cruise ship sank." "Amazing," he notes. "You were really lucky to have a row boat wash up with you." "Oh, this thing?" explains the woman. "I made the boat out of some raw material I found on the island. The oars were whittled from gum tree branches. I wove the bottom from palm tree branches, and the sides and stern came from a Eucalyptus tree." "But, where did you get the tools?" "Oh, that was no problem," replied the woman. "On the south side of the island, a very unusual stratum of alluvial rock is exposed. I found that if I fired it to a certain temperature in my kiln, it melted into ductile iron and I used that to make tools and used the tools to make the hardware." The guy is stunned. "Let's row over to my place," she says "and I'll give you a tour." So, after a short time of rowing, she soon docks the boat at a small wharf. As the man looks to shore, he nearly falls off the boat. Before him is a long stone walk leading to a Cabin and tree house. While the woman ties up the row boat with an expertly woven hemp rope, the man can only stare ahead, dumb struck. As they walk into the house, she says casually, "It's not much, but I call it home. Please sit down." "Would you like a drink?" "No! No thank you," the man blurts out, still dazed. "I can't take another drop of coconut juice." "Oh it's not coconut juice," winks the woman. "I have a still. How would you like a Tropical Spritz?" Trying to hide his continued amazement, the man accepts, and they sit down on her couch to talk. After they exchange their individual survival stories, the woman announces, "I'm going to slip into something more comfortable. Would you like to take a shower and shave? There's a razor in the bathroom cabinet upstairs." No longer questioning anything, the man goes upstairs into the bathroom. There, in the cabinet is a razor made from a piece of tortoise bone. Two shells honed to a hollow ground edge are fastened on to its end inside a swivel mechanism. "This woman is amazing," he muses. "What's next?" When he returns, she greets him wearing nothing but some small flowers on tiny vines, each strategically positioned, she smelled faintly of gardenias. She then beckons for him to sit down next to her. "Tell me," she begins suggestively, slithering closer to him, "We've both been out here for many months. You must have been lonely. When was the last time you played around? She stares into his eyes. He can't believe what he's hearing. "You mean..." he swallows excitedly as tears start to form in his eyes, ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! "You've built a Golf Course?"
  18. All I have ever heard is unless you are able to sell power back to the grid you will never make back your investment in savings.
  19. That's why WE are out there. I don't know about the rest of them though LOL
  20. Is that only enforceable for Wisconsin residents? If someone from out of state born aftre 1989 is operating a watercraft, can they be cited? If so, I hope it's clearly posted at all the ramps on public waterways. In IL there are age restrictions. I believe if you are younger than 16, you can only operate a motorized boat with an adult present. 13 and under must wear pfd's at all times. If I recall WI is 11 and under.

I like Hank 3 and that's about as far as I go listening to country. I grew up listening to country in the 70's and 80's only because my grandfather listened to it. When the ol' lady drives, I'm forced to listen to the crap they call country by todays standards.
  22. Glad it went smoothly. My boy is 22 now, but I remember what he was wearing the first day of preschool. The tears I cried for him were instances where I could have lost him. At 14, he fell thru the ice while taking a short cut over a lake, and last year contracted MRSA and was hospitalized. Don't get me started on girls. Don't have any of my own but raised my stepdaughter since she was 6. She's now 23. High school was tough on me with her. Still remember where and when we had the "Talk", My tears happened when she was 16 and competing in the Miss Teen IL pageant. When I saw her up on stage, I actually walked out because I couldn't contain my tears. That little girl I watched horror movies with, and ate peanut butter cups withl was finally a woman. She has learned not to bring boyfriends around me. None of them are good enough and I make it known how I feel.

I have never trolled for bass but have for salmon, but never really got into the whole trolling thing as I find it boring. My father is a salmon fisherman before bass, but is no longer a boat owner. I learned basic trolling from him, but never even touched the tip of the iceberg with it. There is as much or more technique in trolling than not. Take a look at a great lakes fishing forum sometime. Boat speed, direction, how turning the boat affects presentation, depth. water temp etc. Precision presentations, just like pitching structure only on a larger scale.
