Alabama Rig
How about this weezy109? http://youtu.be/TyftJByLORE

The A Rig Setup
(5) 1/4 oz baits plus the rig itself, I ordered the Yumbrella and I'm not sure of the weight but I'm sure it's less than 1/2oz. Total is less than 2ozs. That's going to get limited use a couple times a year on Lake Michigan and 1 or 2 out of state trips. Here is a pic of the one I ordered that is legal in IL, and my success rate will determine how much I throw it. It will be used primarily in 10fow or less stained with maybe 2ft visabiltiy. Way under 2ozs with baits attached A glorified spinnerbait

The A Rig Setup
All this talk about the Alabama rig but no ones talking about what to throw it with. I'm thinking I'll set up a 7'6" MH/F rated up to 2oz lures with either a Revo Toro or a 5500 C3. Line, I'm hearing 80lb braid. What are your thoughts? Those of you already using it, What rod, reel and line do you have set up? What baits are you finding that compliment the rig? Meaning ease of casting, ease of retrieve, length of bait, weight of bait?

Crappie?
Brush piles, timber, docks and boat lifts. Live bait, or mini mites, nail tails or something similar rigged underneat a Rocket Bobber. I wouldn't spool up anything heavier than 6lb test.

What's In A Name...
The power of a name and its value has long been immortalized in prose, poetry, and religious ceremony. Everyone recognizes himself or herself by name. The question is: how does a name influence a person's character? http://news.yahoo.com/beezow-doo-doo-zopittybop-bop-bop-arrested-021848401.html

L&l And Other Uses...
So you drop 2 bills on sunglasses and walk around all day blowing on them, and comment in another thread about how much better they are compared to Willeys?

Never Owned A Boat Questions.....
Figure out what you need in a boat, and what you want in a boat. before you jump in and purchase one. The first boat: It's 35 years old, which may or may not mean a thing. The motor and transom are the main concerns, with any gouges or deep scrapes in the hull running a close second. You can add a trolling motor. The 2nd boat, you will look at spending another $400-$800 on an outboard and tank, another $150 or so on a TM, $150 or so on a fishfinder, $50-$75 on a battery. So both rigs will run about the same. Insurance on Boat #1 will be more than #2. Registration on boat #1 may be more than #2. Boat #1 you can take the family out on, and will be more stable in bad conditions, and so on.There are a ton of boats in the marketplace. If you're willing to drive you may get a better deal so check outside your metro area.

Braid To Flouro Leader
weezy, Under certain conditions braid with a leader may be the best option. Jig fishing heavy timber for instance. Good chance to get hung up. Much easier to break off a 20 lb leader(tied right it will break off at the hook and not the leader conection) than 55lb braid. How about throwing a fluke or senko on spinning gear? Flouro tends to jump off the spool and twist. The braid will help prevent that, and the leader will asist in line sinking. The list goes on if you look at my original post. Again it's about personal preferance.

Braid To Flouro Leader
Then go ahead and use mono. The OP asked about a leader not about how to fish mono. A flouro leader does not negate sensitivity. IMO The combined use of the 2 types of lines (braid/flouro) under certain conditions or applications, outweighs the benefits that each one has on it's own. I use straight braid, straight flouro, straight mono, and braid/flouro, and now trying Nanofil, whatever the hell that is. I prefer different apps for different presentations. To each his own.

Alabama Rig
Maybe the people against the A-rig just can't afford to drop $20 or $30 on a lure, or $20,000-$50,000 on a bass boat and another $40,000 on a truck to pull the boat that catches fish on the A-rig. Jealous??? I'm a mechanic by trade.Tools cost money. There are tools that work and there are tools that work better. I can use a butter knife to turn a screw, I can use a screwdriver, or I can use an electric screwdriver. The tool that makes my job the easiest, normally cost the most, in turn makes me the most money. What's the difference?

Lures And Their Pricing?
Lures can be expensive. It's all about priorities.

Lowrance Vs Humminbird ??
What's your tax rate? boatersworld has the same unit for $320. No tax, no shipping. no payments, no interest for 6 months.

Braid To Flouro Leader
I rarely exceed 4-5ft. Enough length to retie all day long if need be, not too long to interfere with the guides or reel. dodgeguy, before you make a blanket statement like that, you should ask for more info. People use leaders for a variety of reasons. Some for visibility, some for easier breakability when the biat gets hung up and won't come out, some because braid has poor abrasion resistance, one nick and it's as good as lost. Flouro has high abrasion resistance, Some because flouro sinks.

Alabama Rig
Like performance enhancing drugs? Maybe congress should get involved. Maybe we should ban lures with multiple hooks as we have all seen pics of guys reeling in 2 fish on a single crankbait. Maybe we should catch the fish with our bare hands or our teeth as that would be the only REAL way to show off a fishermans skill. It's a tool to make fish bite. You still need to locate fish. If your on a school of fish, more than likely you're going to catch more than one by making repeated casts with a single lure. Also it's not a contest on who can catch the most fish. 5 quality fish still need to make it to the weighin. I'm waiting on delivery of 2 Illinois legal baits and will be purchasing a couple for my TOC at Guntersville as long as the fish police don't stop me.

Wileyx Sunglasses
I like them. Never owned a pair of Costas so I cant compare the two. I have a big head and they fit comfortably.and securely. I'v had them for 3 years now and they haven't gotten scratched up, (but I only wear them on the boat). As far as polarization, I don't believe they are better or worse than any other pair I've owned.

Boating Law?
Cant sit on the gunwales while the boat is underway.

Favorite Lures Of 2011
@Vinny Chase, I've been using Poorboys Kickin Darter as a trailer with great success on NS swimjigs. Only problem is they don't last long. Picked up some Keitech Swing Impact to try this year.
