  1. Huh? Was a good show this year. I picked up some Tightlines UV soft plastics. I also decided that after seeing the prices of the new Basscats, Rangers, and Legends that used is the way to go.
  2. I have a Clarion cd, mp3, satelite ready that came with 2 speakers. I paid around $200 a couple years ago.
  3. Yeah. My son doesn't stop complaining about the music on my Ipod and I feel like throwing him in the lake. You know, most of the time I don't even notice if the music is on or off when I fish with a partner. When I'm out alone it's nice and IMO it doesn't affect fishing. The fish already hear/feel the noise from outboards and trolling motors or moving around in the boat. I do however keep it at a low level more so to not distract myself.
  4. BBQ is back on my friends

What hook are you using? Are you nose hooking the bait?
  6. I heard some places got 2ft We're at 19.5". Winds last night were 60-70mph gusts causing 6-8ft drifts. -15degrees tonight. The sun is finally coming out.
  7. Sorry guys. I have to cancel the BBQ :'(
  8. Did they start putting out good music or are you talking about the blues knock offs from 40 years ago?
  9. Nobody wants to talk to you guys. ;D ;D ;D
  10. If you're planning on fishing the Fox Chain, US Anglers Choice runs a much better tournament than BBB. Thes are both partner tourneys so there is really no such thing as a "non boater". I used to fish both circuits as do many of the guys but now I just fish anglerschoice. Much better run, they have 7 club tourneys, 2 open tourneys which don't count for points, a 2 day classic in Sept., and every spring if you qualify from the previous year a regional tourney which has been on Guntersville the last few years, where you can win 1 of 3 boats if you are so fortunate. You may have more luck signing up as a non boater for BFL or Illinois bass federation nation or some other draw circuit. If you have any ??? on BBB or Anglers Choice PM me I may be able to help or point you in the right direction.
  11. Figured it out. Thanks much.
  12. Thiis is not necessarily my favorite fishing pic but it means alot to me. The guy not wearing the sunglasses and Tennessee hat is my brother who was born mentaly retarded and has since passed away 8 years ago. He had the opportunity to fish with Bill Dance 20 or so years ago. I just think it's pretty cool that he took time out of his life to do a good thing for a person who was shorted out on all the opportunities life has to offer.
  13. BASSclary, It is your contest. Which means you would be in charge of keeping track of the entries and have final word. So 2 categories boater/non-boater, with 2 sub categories <18yoa/>18yoa Biggest 5 fish bag based on AMI calculator.(the calculator compensates for the state variences) Each contestant will be assigned a # before the contest starts.(You need to have a final sign up date and a final weigh in date) This # will be photographed with each bass entered. The photo also includes the fish laying alongside a tape measure to verify length. By width, I assume you mean girth. This would need to be measured with a soft tape wrapped around the fishes widest point. First prize is bragging rights? You can make it interesting and have all the entrants pony up a $10 gift card from BPS or Cabelas. Payout 1st 50% 2nd 30% 3rd 20%. Just a suggestion. Will there be a side pot for big bass? Bc, you will have your work cut out for you. People will enter every bass they catch and you will have to keep track of all this as well as verify the ami results. Are you sure you're up for this?
  14. Before I screw it up and get ridiculed by bilgerat ;D is this what you're talking about The HP Photosmart software supports a variety of HP products. The HP Photosmart software installs by default into the C:\Program Files\HP folder. You can change this install folder during the first install of HP Photosmart software on a computer. Subsequent installs of other HP products that use the HP Photosmart software will automatically use the same folder as the first install. To change the folder where the HP imaging software is installed, you must first uninstall all HP imaging devices and the HP Photosmart software and then re-install all HP imaging devices and HP Photosmart software.
  15. Bc, just google it. I don't know if its cool to post the link here since they are another fishing site.
  16. Sure you can pay my taxes.
  17. It's not fair to put a boater against a non boater. The person with the boat can access a lot more water than a shore fisherman. ...and a guy with a $50,000 bass boat with SI/DI has an advantage over someone with a 12' jon boat with a 25lb thrust TM. ...and a guy who has the ability to fish everyday has an advantage over weekend warriors. ...and live bait out produces artificial. ...and private waters out produce public waters. ...and so on. Life isn't fair my shorebound friend ;D I've caught my 2 biggest smallmouth from shore and my biggest largemouth in less than a foot of water. The contest should be simple and to the point. Don't forget. Someone is going to have to keep track of the entries, and one person needs to have the final word.
  18. Fish hooked on the outside of the mouth may not be entered in the contest. : ;D
  19. I have a HPdeskjet 4400scanner. Computer is a HP laptop running windows xp. I scan my old pictures, they get saved on the computer in the "my doucments" files as a pdf format. I'm trying to upload to photobucket without luck. Can I save it to a jpeg format and if so, How? Please let me know in simpletons terms as my computer skills are limited to surfing fishing and non "family oriented" sites. Thanks
  20. ...and boater non boater shouldn't matter. Neither should state since many of us travel to different states on fishing trips and/or fish multiple states regularly. You could have 3 categories though largemouth, smallmouth, and spot.
  21. That doesn't address ANY of the issues brought up earlier in this thread. What issues were there besides the ratio of size:location? If you want it to be fair, you'll have to add some parity. The AMI calculator would be one method. State records are what's been used in the past. And don't over complicate it. Not to mention the words fisherman and honesty don't always go together. There is some other site that holds weeky online tournaments. You register, get a # which needs to be in the pic with the fish along with a measuring tape. That prevents you from pulling pics from elsewhere or using old pics. I think you'd have to use the AMI calculator as someone else said different scales may read differently.
  22. It's been 18 months since this thread started. Just curious. Have you had any luck killing this catfish or is it still alive?
  23. Green Japanimae
  24. I'm badly bruised. Hopefully I'll survive at least until the thaw. My losing battle began earlier this week. Apparently Mr. B. Monkey saw a weakspot and came in for the kill. It started with Whopper Baits new Boxing Craw annnnnnnd a few other things from their site. Then to make matters worse Americas Outdoor Show was here in Chicago. I went yesterday and picked up the new UV baits from Tightlines. If that wasn't enough, I placed an order from Jensen Jigs today. Darn you Dwight Hottle. It couldn't end there... TW was the final blow with some more jigs, swimbaits, stickbaits, terminal tackle and a Lateral Perch. If this keeps up I won't be able to afford to put gas in the boat in another 6 weeks. :'(
