You can't compare this guy to Prince Naseem. Whether you think Naseem was phony or not he could fight. Maybe not a conventional fight, but still fight. Barrera wasn't intimidated by him. I may be mistaken but after that fight I can't remember hearing about him again.

X2 pvc is cheap, waterproof, and easy to work with. As was also states you'll want to have a female receptacle mounted to the boat that the TM will plug into. The TM manufacturers recommend the motor is unplugged while batteries are charging. You can run the livewell and electronics off 1 battery and the TM on a seperate circuit with 6ga wire. Don't forget you will need fuses or circuit breakers to protect the circuits. You can get the amp ratings from the owners manuals.

I see you're limited on space. Is it possible to fabricate some type of mount and mount the motor at a 22 degree angle from the bow rather than a 45 degree which is what you're proposing.

The problem with mounting it off to the side is you're going to have difficulty with the boat tracking straight. It will take alot more effort than if the prop is centered with the hull.

If I understand you correctly you are asking if the motor is mounted straight in line with the bow or on either side of the centerpoint? Normaly the motor is mountrd on the port(left) side of the bow, and when the shaft is deployed it will be center starboard(center right) of the centerpoint of the bow.

bilgerat, What is used as a starter to turn over an engine that large? If the starter doesn't work can you tap on it with a wrench? ;D

Another ??? Is 3/8oz ok or too heavy to fish in less than 6fow? I know the trailer will also have an effect on fall/swim rates. The trailer should slow the fall rate even though it adds weight to the bait, right? I'm just wondering if should pick up some 1/4oz jigs also.

How do you do a system cleanout after a major failure like that ? That's gotta be time consuming... Depending on the failure it could take days or weeks to do a system cleanout. A system that large will have multiple filters installed on the liquid and suction refrigerant lines. Initially we would replace the compressor (return the damaged one for rebuild)and filters and do an acid test on the oil. Then probably change out the filters on a daily basis and possibly replace the oil. Solenoid valves and metering devices may also need replacing if debris gets to them. Most importantly is try to diagnose why the compressor failed. In the video the guy said the ice rink personel kept resetting the oil safety when the unit would go down. The safety trips for a reason. What happened after the safety was reset is oil and/or liquid refrigerant "slugged" back to the compressor. A compressor can only compress gas not liquid hence the failure.

Here's what I work on. Large equiptment like this down to 1/4hp compressors you'd find in your refrigerator.

I saw an episode of Shipshape TV wher they demonstrated with Alumabrite from Aurora Marine. Sprat it on and hose it off. They also carry an aluminum protector that will keep the shine longer.

I have 20 years more fishing knowledge than 20 years ago, 20 years of working to pay for my hobby, and a boat. I don't know if fishing is necessarily easier but the knowledge and the boat have given me the ability to find and catch more fish. I still primarily throw the same types of baits now as I did then. I still use my old Abu Ambassaduer reels for some applications. Last season my #'s were down but quailty was up, and I worked for these fish. New electronics do the same as knowledge and a boat do. They give the ability to find more fish which increases the chances of catching them. Sad to say I don't have SI/DI yet.

The spawn is not triggered by AIR temps. The spawn is more a function of length of day (hours of daylight) and water temp. Think about it. The shortest day of the year is in December, and the coldest water is usually in Dec or Jan. So as the days lengthen and the water starts to warm (warm is a relative term) the instinct to spawn will start the process. I've read several theories about what happens when adverse conditionts persist. 1.) That the female will spawn her eggs no matter how cold the water is. and 2.) That she will carry the eggs without laying them and absorb them back into her body. I'm not sure which theory is correct or if both or neither is correct. Yes, I think your bass should start to feed up or go into Pre-Spawn mode. BUT they may not be moving up shallow to feed. Down here in FLA, last month we found bass in a pre spawn condition and for over a week we absolutely beat on them in 20 feet of water. Deep diving cranks were the lure du juor or live bait free lined to them. These fish went from 3-8 lbs. This has happened several times in the last month usually with the passing of a cold front. then as the water and weather warmed the fish moved up on the nearest flats to continue feeding and some to start the spawn.
