No one has mentioned the family car. A station wagon (by todays standards that would be a "crossover" vehicle) If we were fortunate enough to go on a family vacation the 6 of us would pile into the beast with all the luggage and travel cross country. No dvd's to watch, we played the license plate game or bigger than a breadbasket. Let's hear it for 8 track tapes. It gets better. We had the privilege of having a cassette adapter that plugged into the 8 track player. Talk about modern technology. No one has mentioned using a wire coat hanger to get reception for the halfadozen tv channels. My mother had a radio in the kitchen that, to get the best reception when tuning, you would have to match up the green lines. My father used to tell us kids when we were getting the belt that WE were lucky because his father used a razor strap on him and apparently that was much worse :-?.

You'll have to see what's happening in the area you live. There are open tournys, charity tourneys, etc. Find out what the club requires. Many times they just want dues, an entry fee, and nothing else.

If you tie on a 6 ft leader it's plenty for reties and lure changes for the day. Any shorter and you'll be retieing leaders.

Not really sure what you're talking about with the pvc. If the pvc is between the motor and the transom it's not doing anything to protect the transom. The normal transom saver is essentialy making the motor part of the trailer taking all the stress off the transom.

Try contacting Diawa. Email them the pic and maybe they will send you a replacement spool. Worth a shot.

Did you check your battery connections? All that bumping around may have caused something else to loosen up.

Tin, I don't know you and believe you have no soul. First off, get your degree so you always have that and a skill to fall back. Nothing is set in stone on what any of us have to do in life. I never went to college. After high school I changed oil for a living. My son was born at 20. Drove a truck until I was 28 and decided If I'm going to get anywhere I need to change. I went to trade school and have become a relatively successful refrigeration mechanic, and I rehab houses on the side. I am ready for another change. I wake up with aches and pains every day of my life. My son is in college and has changed majors and has even brought up quitting and going to work. I keep telling him you want to be in pain like me when you're 40. Stay in school. There's something out there for everyone. Whatever choices you make, good or bad, you have to live with them. You can always change your mind, but you have to live with that also. I will say, if I had to do it all over agian I wouldn't change a thing. (Except for the whole being in pain thing 8-)) A friend of mine was a carpenter until he was 35 years old. He then went back to school and is an accountant/tax attorney.

This is the first season I had 55# Samuari spooled my bc's. I tie direct for frogs, jigs I may tie direct or may use a flouro leader. Never an issue.

It's not new. They've been doing this for years.

Whoever wins I think it will be a good game and a really close score. All season the Bears have played equal to their competition. 2 weeks ago they played philly and played well against a good team. Last week against Detroit, even though they won it was disappointing. I don't believe there is a definitive reason why either team should win or lose. I picked NE with low points in my confidence pool(only because there is money involved) but am looking forward to the Chicago victory.

It appears to me from checking different sites that if you purchase a quality boat the ??? welded or riveted is irrelevant. I'll add that just about every hull failure I read about was from a Tracker. the other few were from Starcraft.

I believe both those companies only make rivited hull boats. The dealer never said one was better than the other, I made that call on my own. Welds can buckle and crack. A rivit may loosen, if you purchase a quality boat I dont see that happening. How many threads have there been on Tracker Hull failure. Their hulls are welded. Just sayin'. Rivited takes no specialized tools or aluminum welding experience to repair. Airplanes are riveted, not welded. If welded was better wouldn't they weld airplanes ?

You'd better check not only hp restrictions but the fact that many powerplant lakes require a gas powered outboard. That is the case with Lasalle, Braidwood, and Heideke up in northern IL. BTW these lakes are closed from Oct-March.
