Again,this makes no sense!!
I have been questioned by the DNR at stocker lakes and Lake Michigan. Never had an issue when I said I was bass fishing. If a nightcrawler or minnow was on the hook can a trout know it's meant for a bass and not for her?

Again,this makes no sense!!
You don't have to and they can't enforce it (At least here in IL). Problem is the game warden can make you miserable, give you a ticket, in which to fight, you'll lose a days work. As long as you're not in possesion of said trout you are not breaking any laws. A trout is unable to know the spoon swimming by his mouth is meant for a bass. Here's a thought. Write "Bass Only" on the spoon. If he questions you again show him the lure, and tell him you tried your best to prevent trout from hitting the lure.

Anyone like the taste of Bluegill?
I have to add bluegills that are caught in the spring when the water is still cold is the way to go. Summer gills don't taste as good. As far as cooking them deep fried wins hands down. Bluegill sammiches are wonderful. I'll also occassionaly bake them and serve over buttery wild rice. Owasco, pumpinkinseed are also good eats.

prop repair
In my neck of the woods an aluminum prop repair, minor welding and repitched/cupped runs roughly 50% of what a new prop costs.

No grass? weeds?
Mud or rock/gravel bottom? Since you're restricted to the bank if the bottom is mud I'd stick with cranks or spinnerbaits. If it's rock throw everything. Do you have a topo map or can you google earth a pic to find depths and structure? That might help you eliminate non productive water.

Same reels or Different reels?
I have Abu's, an Ardent, Daiwa's, and BPS. The Diawa's and BPS collect dust in the garage. I just like the way the Abu's feel versus the other 2 brands

Chicago Smallie
Nice fish. It's a shame the "city" doesn't make it easier for us fisherman to fish, especially since they had B.A.S.S. here years ago. Lake Michigan is an incredible fishery. The north branch of the Chicago River has a good population of LM bass and crappies but you do get an ocassional brown bass and even salmon that have made it thru the locks. If you're fortunate enough to fish by boat, smallie fishing in the harbors and around the breakwalls can at times be incredible. 2 1/2lb average. 3s and 4s are common and chicagoland waters do give up some 5s an 6s every year. Although evasive, the zebra mussels and gobies have brought some life to the bass fishing, but they have been detrimental to the smelt fishery which has affected the salmon fishery. Enough about salmon this is a bass forum . Anyway, beautiful bass. City Limits??? don't think "Ike" caught a fish over 12" when he fished Chi-Town

Fishing Forearm?
If it's your pinky and ring finger then it very well may be the ulnar nerve. Your buddy had a SMUNT (Submuscular ulnar nerve transposition), and the outcomes unfortunately vary greatly with that procedure. That being said, you are far from surgery if your symptoms are intermittent. Whatever you do, do not put any direct pressure over the inside of your elbow (nerve is most superficial there and susceptible to chronic irritation)... so make sure you rest the meat of your forearm on the console while driving or any other time you would otherwise be resting on your elbows. Hopefully this isn't the case, but if the cuff repair you had was on the same side as your hand symptoms, your neck could be the culprit (C5 refers to the shoulder and can decrease your cuff strength to the point of leading to partial/complete tears). Your ortho doc should be able to do a pretty quick differential diagnosis to figure out what's going on with you. Good luck! Rotator cuff surgery was on the opposite side and a work related injury.

Fishing Forearm?
First of all, what a depressing thread. Secondly I too have numbness in my pinky and ring fingers that wakes me up every night, happens while driving, and worst of all I get numbness when senko or fluke fishing on a spinning combo. A guy I work with had surgery last year to relocate a pinched nerve. Same symptoms. I would like to prolong the inevitable as long as I can. I just got back to work after having rotator cuff surgery and can't afford more time off. :'( :'( :'(

BOAT TAKES ON WATER
Does the boat have a livewell? Could be a hole in the fill or drain tubing.
-
Which do you think a bass prefers?
Let me add this. A jig or tube can represent a crawfish, a bluegill, a baitfish... a Senko, a worm, which do occur naturally when land is flooded. I'm not sure if a fish knows the nutritional value of anything it eats. Maybe they know they get more energy from eating one meal rather than another. Who knows? I believe water temp., instinct, metabolism, barametric pressure, moon phases, territorial behaviour etc. have more impact on what a fish eats than just baitfish or craw. How do you explain fish gourging? How many times have you caught a bass that is spitting up craws or baitfish or both in your livewells?

New Ride
Yeah, but does it catch fish? Enjoy!

Tow Vehicle
I have an '08 5.7liter and it tows my boat like it's not even there. I get about 12mpg with the boat and 17-19 without. And yes I agree the gas tank is too small.

gas smokers
I have a Brinkman upright gas smoker and couldn't be happier. It came with (3) 12" adjustable grate shelves a water tray and wood chip tray. Enough room to smoke salmon filets, 5-7lb pork shoulder, a whole chicken. Ribs need to be cut to length to fit on the grates. I buy my wood chips from Menards or Cabelas. I bought it to because I wanted to not have to tend to it as often as a charcoal or wood smoker. Not sure the model# but I got it at Home depot.

Any HVAC/R Guys?
Been doing it for 15 years as a commercial refrigeration mechanic. Best advice I can give you is get into the service end of the business. Constuction and installation jobs fluctuate greatly depending on the economy. I worked for a non union shop for 12 years and currently work for a union shop, and have never been unemployed. Work is unpredictable and much of it depends on the weather. Spring and fall are normaly slow Summer busy and winter is in-between. Also there may be days when you work 4hrs and days you work 14hrs. Depending on your location, talent and experience you can make anywhere from 30k-100k a year, but don't expect to make big bucks right away. PM me if you have any ???
