  1. Oh, I also using mono backing for both mono & braid. I only spool enough of what I am gong to use, about have the spool or so. So I have extra line when I need to respool later on.
  2. I have the 2500FI also. I have one spool filled w/ 8 lb P-Line CXX & the other w/ Sufix 20 lb braid. With all the spinning reels I have w/ spare spools, I have one w/ mono & the other spool w/ braid. When I spool up w/ mono, I use Reel Magic & spray some one after so many windings. So if I don't use the spool the line on the spool stays fairly soft & will manage easily when it's time to use it.
  3. I took a pic of the lure I have. It's 5" long & 3/4 oz. It looks stunning w/ the finish. It did have an oval split ring on the nose, but I took that off cuz I use snaps when I fish w/ hardbaits. The joints move freely & construction seems top notch. But at $15 a pop, it's an expensive lure & the 7" model will go for $20. The store did have a smaller version also.
  4. http://www.sebileusa.com/product.cfm?inventory_id=86 http://www.sebileusa.com/videos/v1.cfm Bought this a couple hours ago. The local D*ck's Sporting goods...is "sporting" this new lure. I am hoping to try it out this week, depending on weather. I am so curious if this lure will perform like it does on the Sebile video. Color selection is so-so, I wonder if they'll broaden the color selection if the lure catches on. So I would think this is a very different take on a rattle trap?
  5. So-so. If the store used to be a Galyans & changed to a Dick's Sporting Goods, they for some reason carry a better variety of fishing stuff/equipment.
  6. I actually have 3 red eye shad in sexy shad, just forgot to add it in the pic
  7. Tackle tour just did a review of the swim bait rod
  8. They're SEXY!!! I've been looking for these lures in this color. Found some on ebay, but h*ll if I'm paying for what they are asking for them on ebay! BPS had these lures in the Sexy Shad color. The bottom lure is a BPS Extreme Shallow Crank. The color is very close to the Sexy Shad, I just brushed on some glitter to have close to the Strike King version. I couldn't resist....cool color!
  9. Was at BPS today & saw this very interesting take on the Chatterbait. I've heard about these a couple months ago, but then I saw at BPS. They only had one color, this one. So this will do for now. Friend of mine that works for D*cks Sporting Goods informed me that they will be carrying the Trick Stick Shad. I'll tell you this much, it's very good looking lure. But the chatter blade isn't as thick as the original chatterbait blade. I wonder how well this will hold up? I may have to buy a few other colors when they come out. They will come in 2 1/4", 3", 5" & 7" musky size. It originally had black treble hooks which were good quality. I switched them out w/ red trebles & a feathered rear treble.
  10. Way to go Mike! Great looking setups! I've never fishg in Wisconsin so I look forward...if all goes well to fish w/ you around your part of the woods.
  11. Shimano needs to come out w/ a Citica 100 left hand! >

  13. Ardents oil/grease or Quantum Hot Sauce oil/grease? Or what other? Do you guys use to keep your reels working like it left the factory, or where it runs smooth as butta?
  14. I should have mentioned what kind of rod is it. It's a Berkley Series One, the older model that has an almost skeleton seat, & has graphite seat stays. If I can't remove the reel seat, I would like to at least take off the rear cork & try & make a split grip out of it. You think this would be possible RM?
  15. I have a baitcast rod that I like, actually I like the blank but don't care for the reel seat or the rear cork handle. Is it possible to take off the rear cork butt section & the reel seat? If so, how do I go about it? I was thinking of looking at Cabelas for the replacement parts.
  16. Any you guys use these? Are they any good?
  17. Are the new Max series also Revo's? Why I ask is there's a $50 rebate going on when you buy any Revo b/c reels & a rod from Fenwick & All Star. Just thought I'd take advantage of this if the Max reels are says Revo on them. Any of you guys that owns a Max, can you check the box or the reel if it says Revo? Thanks
  18. I would think this should apply to discounts also. I found that quote from the Shmano Rep from Tackletour: TT member: If I buy a curado from cabelas using a $20 off coupon does this still qualify for the rebate program? Shimano Rep: Using the Cabela's coupon will be OK. The rebate is good for purchases through Shimano authorized dealers only. Reels purchased through Ebay or other non Shimano internet dealers will not be entitled to the rebate.
  19. I have one in left hand. It's a pretty good reel for the price. You'll like the swept handle & the mag braking. Good luck & have fun....I'm still waiting for the snow & ice to melt off till I can fish. And have to wait till May or June till I can get my kayak or pontoon boat in the water...sad.
  20. Fish Tank, I was thinking the same thing about the Zillion. I do have 3 other Daiwa baitcast reels & a Revo S-L, but they are from last year & so on. Also a BPS Extreme baitcast reel. I'll be adding to the family about 3 Daiwa spinning reels also. I'm looking to upgrade most of my rods also in the next few weeks. As of now the Shimano Cumara b/c rod & Compre spinning rods are the new ones. I'm looking to getting a couple Carrot Stix, Falcon Cara, All Star ASR & Cabelas Magtouch. I'll be set for the season & so on!
  21. I have one in that exact color. Yes it is easy to walk the dog w/ the strom. The sway back is what it will help make it easy to to the technique.
  22. Got the Calcutta 51 a couple years ago when this place had them on clearance. The new Calcutta model doesn't have a left hand 51 model...which I was hoping for. I'll tell you this much, I paid much less than the retail price! The place doesn't have anymore of these reels. This reel is hard to find...now. I don't know, I've been thinking of selling it, since I hardly have used it since I bought it... The Stradic & Saros are both nice reels. I haven't fished w/ either one cuz as I said, the weather SUCKS! More snow is falling right now...no play time for me or for the kids. But I do like the smoothness of these reels. I would like to find out how well they will handle fish fighting, which I would think both would be top notch fish butt kickers!
  23. Is it spinning or baitcasting? If spinning, it would be great for skipping lures under docks. If baitcast, if you are fishing an area where you have limited room to cast, would work too w/ the spinning rod.
  24. I've been wanting you guys to meet my children for some time, I figures now's the best time. Please don't mind them, the smaller ones just make faces for the camera & if you look close enough, you can see that one of them blinked! Aren't they total cuties??? I'm SUCH a PROUD Papa!!! Here's their pics & names: On top left to right: Shimano Cardiff CDF301, Cardiff CDF101, Calcutta CT51 On the bottom left to right: Curado 301DSV (new big brother), Curado 201DHSV, Curado 101D And here's some more siblings, just look at them all smile! Left to right: Shimano Stradic 2500FI, Saros 1000F, Symetre 1500FI, & Symetre 750FI Oops, almost forgot the step child, yeah he's pouting, cuz he's just a little different from his siblings: Daiwa Zillion TDZLN100HLA They've all been wanting to go out & play, but the weather SUX right now. They'll just have to wait to play in the water for another month. I reckon when they go out & play, they'll play rough w/ the fishes! ;D I'm so glad they got their mother's good looks!
  25. I'll agree w/ the Shimano Calcutta. I had a Calcutta 151 & that reel casted much farther than other round or low profile reels I owned. Once you get the brakes set w/ the lure weight & the right flex rod, the reel just casted things very far. My second would be the previous version of the Team Daiwa Advantage. It didn't cast as far as the Calcutta 151, but it casted far.
