  1. Ridiculous as always Big-O
  2. Looks like you had a blast, nice going!
  3. I don't know much about river fishing for bass, but I would not even call that temperature drop a cold front. When fishing lakes for bass a temperature drop like that seems to do nothing to the fishing. In my opinion it shouldn't have much if any affect on the fish.
  4. 9.6 sounds good, but like SirSnookalot said you should check to see how accurate that scale is. It's pretty hard to guess the weight of a fish that big because when a bass reaches a longer length (like 25") their weight can vary by quite a bit.
  5. Hardly anyone in my family goes fishing, except for the occasional charter boat trip (fishing for fluke in the Atlantic ocean) that my grandparents would take me on when I was really young. That being said I am mostly self taught except for one thing that my dad showed me. He doesn't fish with me often but he bought me a #3 mepps spinner when I first got into fishing, and I remember him showing me how to catch bass with it. That was the first artificial bait that I had ever caught a bass on, and the rest is history.
  6. Congrats
  7. That sucks man, I hope you get her to bite again someday
  8. Nice fish dude, those are hawgs for sure
  9. Great story and great fish, WTG!
  10. Nice job, I'm surprised a spawning bass went for a moving bait as opposed to something that sits in its bed like a fluke but fishing is always full of surprises. Go get another one!
  11. Those are all great wish, nice job. And yes I can definitely tell that you've been couped up for a while.
  12. My buddy and I thought we had four keepers, but at the weigh in one of the bass was just shy of 15". So we had three keepers one of which kicked the bucket on us. So we ended up with 6.07 lbs, but had to take a one pound penalty for the dead fish. Not quite where we wanted to end up. Had one of our fish not died and the other fish had reached 15" we would have ended up with around 8 lbs, which would have put us in the top 5 and in the money. However, I thought we still faired pretty well considering a cold front blew in and dropped the temperature by about 30 degrees. I really wish we could have had that 5 lb 11 oz fish during the tournament instead of two days before, but that's fishing for you
  13. My buddy and I were pre-fishing for a tournament yesterday that will be held tomorrow and we faired pretty well. We didn't fish for a full 8 hours like the tournament will be, but we fished for about 5.5 hours. We caught three keeper bass that weighed 10lbs 8oz. Mostly due to one fish that measured 21" and weighed 5lbs 11oz. Hopefully we can do that well in the tournament also, and boat two more keepers to get a full limit.
  14. I can tell you confidently that there is no way that fish weighed 2 pounds. I think your friend needs a better scale I would say 4.5-5 pounds
  15. Sounds like a heck of a day, congrats to you and your mom
  16. Absolutely incredible!!! You set the bar high for the rest of us
  17. Largemouth bass: 6 lbs 12 oz Smallmouth bass: No weight, but measured at 20 1/4 inches
  18. Wow! Great smallies as always Dwight
  19. I stopped using swivels not because they hindered my lure performance but because they have the tendency of coming undone once in a while, while fighting a big fish.
  20. Great job A-Jay those are some stout fish. Any idea what they together?
  21. I agree with Bluebasser86, the first fish looks like it's 3 pounds.
