  1. Can't believe no one mentioned Cream...including me...lol
  2. Even though I wear rx glasses..The best bifocal sunglasses I've tried are the Maui Jim Makaha (sp) polarized high quality lenses. Not cheap, I've had mine for about 8 years.
  3. Wishing all the best for Aaron..Great guy, I'm sure he will be back good as new..
  4. O.k. I mis stated the spool play measurement earlier. I'm still not all that accurate when is comes to mm..So mine is probably around .010-,015..I'm sorry if I mislead anyone.
  5. I've caught bass on Shad colored swimbaits, yet there are no shad in those waters..Bass when in the right mood, are only concerned with getting food, or if aggressive, well strike any color..
  6. The only alternative is, if you can't see anything is to fan cast an area thoroughly, sometimes you get lucky. Oh and make long cast's if possible. Keep your retrieves on the slow side. I've fished such ponds for years, where there is no way to see beyond a foot or so, but only a couple of feet from the bank. If it were me, I'd be tossin a jig with a compact trailer out there, going as light weight as you can get away with. Cast it, let it hit bottom ..then pop it up about a foot or so, rinse and repeat.
  7. Ever seen a swarm of baby bluegills..? Those are baitfish to a bass. Get whatever your favorite brand of smaller paddletails are in a bluegill pattern, and give it a shot..you'll never know till ya try..
  8. Open it with a new tab...you'll see then..
  9. I use the Tatula 200 for 2 oz swimbaits. I spooled mine up with 17 lb Sufix Camo..
  10. 2 may be what you would consider. The Emerald Shiner, or the Arkansas shiner.
  11. On some of the Diawa reels it can be, but it's not difficult. I have mine with maybe 1-2 mm of play, brakes are set on 6 to 8 depending on lure weight. I also have the 150, 200, and 3 of the 100 reels.. The side to side play I posted is Wrong..should be .010-.015..play not 1-2 mm..Sorry.
  12. It's the spool tension knob on the left side by the drag star. It's set at zero from the factory, some like me loosen it up. If your newish to baitcasters, it's best not to mess with it yet. The idea is, the spool is set to where you get good cast's, and yet to help stop over runs (birds nest's).
  13. I agree. There have been days when I would only throw 1 maybe 2 different baits. When I first began swimbaiting, I bought a bunch of baits, some Very expensive. I found that in most conditions 1 or 2 baits usually were all I needed on a given day. KISS works..
  14. I have 3 new rods, and reels I was hoping to try out, but due to the virus, and me being one of those that are high risk, I only go out when absolutely necessary. All of our big lakes are closed, but the park lakes are open for limited hours, so no, I haven't caught squat, and hopefully I don;t till this is over. Y'all stay Safe..
  15. Big fan of EVA grips, those look very comfy. Would love to see the whole rod when completed..
  16. My main question is..anyone managing this pond.? Does it have aeration, and a fresh water supply..And, what is the primary forage.?
  17. And...we are still at the over 3.00 mark for regular..Diesel is still 3.70 per gal....
  18. I have a Citica, never had any issues, well, after I added some oil to the spool bearings. 20lb braid is pretty dang light for a baitcaster. I would respool with say at least 40 lb braid.
  19. Loose line on the spool, possibly some loops that could be the problem. Yeah pic's would help.
  20. I do, as I stated at the beginning of this thread. Great rod for the $$. Plus it's light, so it's not fatiguing. If you wanted to spend $50.00 more, the Irod would be a great choice.
  21. I Never scan my card at the pump, always go inside to pay. Morons plant card readers at places like gas pumps, even at bank atm's..Goggle can show how to spot the readers..
  22. I think it best, before recommending all this gear is to. 1..find out what type of rod and reel he's looking for, spinning, or bc. 2.. what type of fish is he going to target.? Trout, panfish, musky, bass..ect. 3..how much experience does he have. 4..What is his budget. And lastly, where and what type of water is he going to fish in. BTW, my Diawa Fuego CT is pretty dang smooth.
  23. I only have 4 spare baitcasting spools, I keep them in a small plastic bag, in my desk drawer. They get used as needed.
  24. Baby rage bug for your application.
