  1. I hate braid on rocks because it frays and breaks. Flouro takes longer to get in that bad of shape. If one wants to say,"well retie, jackA5$." then I would reply with,"I cant tell if the braid is worn when its wet, the flouro, I can." Thats just my opinion.
  2. I found a vid on there in the related section. That guy is amazing. Id like to be fortunate enough to meet him some day.
  3. Watch how loud you type about UPS :-X E21 rods arent a bad choice.
  4. Dude get on my level! Thats what I was raised on 8-)
  5. Good suggestion .ghoti. I would have mentioned that one a well but Ive never used mine for anything but finnesse plastics and jigs.
  6. Getche a Team Diawa S rod. I have the 7'0" jiggin rod and it is a decent all arounder allthough it is better with plastics. I dont know how well it'd do with cranks though. The only XP I have there is ripping lippless baits through grass. To be a good cranking rod you have to sacrifice hook-set power which takes away from your plastics ability. Another option might be a 6'6" MH BPS extreme rod. Ive been surprised what I can throw on it but I usually throw spinnerbaits and chatter type baits.
  7. Depends on how much use they get. Once every two or three trips works for me.
  8. For what it's worth, I use a Daiwa Sol on the TD-Ligt and Tough 7'0" M rod. I have a 1/16oz t-rig tied on it right now, quel coincidence!
  9. Ive never factored height into my rod choice, Ive also never felt I needed to. I dont own a bass rod under 6'6" mostly out of preference. According to Burley, me throwing a hudd is pretty funny though ;D Just get whatever rod suits you.
  10. Y'all are just haters. Ive had one for about two years and it beats the heck out my other $60 reels. Ill admit, its not one of my big bad reels I always use but it makes a good'un for keeping an extra bait tied on for if you break one off and dont have an opportunity to retie.
  11. 8 is plenty here. I saw some dude with one of the flippin pitchin ardents and I wanted to apologize on behalf of whatever that he ended up with a set drag of 24 lbs. The line on it appeared to be maybe 12-17lbs. I cant see things working out very well for him.
  12. Is probably cursing whoever dug this thread from the grave.
  13. Im down with Metallica
  14. Going to the Bark Camp Brawl Dinkmasters tournament ;D Seriously, I met some great local fisherman.
  15. I wish I could jam like that.
  16. Thats the reason you dont see rednecks rockin #8 tats and back hair.
  17. Personally I like 14 for jigging and such and 10 for jerkbaits but if youre fishing heavier cover than me, you should be fine.
  18. If you could add another 50, a Viento wouldnt be a bad reel at all. On ebay you could probably get one for around 150 new. Dont rule out used reels either. I was fortunate enough to get a Fuego for 180. The drag needed to be worked a little but other that that it has perfomed flawlessly.
  19. Im not going to lie, my plug knocker is BUMPIN 8-) Its the lead part from a BPS knocker attached to 50lb braid on a busted reel on the handle of a broken rod. It works well and that spool of 50 lb test is nice when your lure is 36 feet down. (I use it for plastics too, I wish I had a 36 foot diver though)
  20. I just about cut mine off after hanging my line in it trying to pitch a Reaction Innovations beaver thing. Every 3 to five pitches it would hang and my bait would fly about 15 feet in the air and about the same distance from my target. I decided Id wait untill I can get my dremmel cutter out on it.
  21. They sell the modernized version of the lure at DICKS. I think its a creek chub or something. Basically its just a 5-6 inch double-jointed wooden swimbait. I think thats what it is, someone better educted in fishing lore might have to step in here though.
  22. Thats interesting. Id rather Perry's bass maintain its position untill it is broken though. Its not like its impossible. If his bass was recorded as 32lbs 4oz thatd be different. Its a fact that 22+lbers exist, someone just needs to get one.
  23. If there was a combination of several games, thatd be great. I have a few that have their ups and downs. 1. Rapala Fishin- Boat driving is fun, casting is realistic. Who would want to throw hard baits all the time though? Also, who would want to do that in a swimming pool sized area? 2. BPS fishing- Probably the most fun. I dont remember hard baits being in this game though. The tournies made me mad because I could never tell if I was getting anywhere. 3. Mark Davis fishing- Decent selection of baits. You can throw a freakin swimbait in it!!! Limited area to fish in though. My idea of a good fishing game would be kinda like those goofy skating games where you create a player and work your way up to the top. Id like to be able to view a topo map of the game lake and select spots to fish that would correspond with the seasons. Using real, existing lakes would be awesome. The boat driving would be cool if you could hit other boats waves and yell at people that were up in your spots. BASS, if you're reading this, please for the love of god make a fishing game that doesnt suck.
  24. They might be for some, for me, thats not the case. People might like them because the cover a lot of water quickly and they dont have to be hard to fish.
  25. I use the 6'9" MH 1/4-5/8oz. I like it. I like it too much :-X
