Another one of my problems with the motor I have now is the slop and play the mount has and no variable speed.... It is just crap. I have narrowed choices to 3 motors, the MK Maxxum 70, the MK edge and powerdrive V2.... I leaning more towards the Maxxum 70 over the edge because of the variable speed and the beefier mount.....variable speed seems like an absolute must IMO.

By saying backtrolling I mean to troll up river against the current keeping my line vertical and on my target area... My motor is only 12volts and does not have the power I want or need to control my boat on a windy day on the river. The wind and current just kills my batteries in no time.

what does group 24, 27 etc. mean... sorry to derail but I never heard Batteries referred to that way...

does any body own one of these or have experience with one?. I'm looking into the 24v. Is the electric steer or autopilot a pain to use? Reliable? I have had my two Energys pt20's since 2005 with no negitive issues... If you take care of your equipment it will take care of you. Nobody should expect a different outlook on Quantums from a Shimano biased site ..... I mean after all you dont see a Quatum Product Support forum here do you?

true....but if it can't hold a palomar knot like everthing else can, what good is. I'll take P-Line CXX over vanish anyday....Trilene sensation is more durable than vanish I used Vanish for two years without a problem. Never broke a knot. I used vanish and never had a problam...But now I just can't leave braid alone I have been wanting to try Ande's....

oh yeah I always cut the lure off my good rods... The lure was on my browning in the rod locker and got caught on my avid.... Yeah its only deep on my Mojo up towards the upper half and the scratch goes form one guide half way to the other. It is more of a scrape than a scratch...And there is also a nic exposing the thread around the eye....

Well the rods in question are an Avid and a Mojo bass....Do you know if these blanks are painted?.... The scratches are not major, just mostly from crank bait hooks.... Thanks for the reply -Marke
