  1. Never pay attention to them in that aspect, I purchase, try, keep/sell/trade/trash based upon my preferences. Let me give you an example, let 's say I 'm watching a spinnerbait video of KVD the only thing I pay attention to is the tips and techniques he 's explaining about spinnerbaiting, the moment he says: "here I have this Quantum reel" all I hear is yadda, yadda, yadda ( background noise to which I pay no attention ) until he begins talking again about what I 'm interested in ---> information about spinnerbaiting. Well put, Raul. We can learn from the pros about fishing techniques but I pay very little attention to their product pitches. Check it out. Do you wear Hanes underwear because Michael Jordan advertises it? Do you drive a Buick because Tiger Woods is giving the pitch? Do you eat Campbell's chunky soup because Donovan McNabb and the NFL moms supposedly love it? BTW, I'm not bashing these people at all for pitching these products and making a good living doing it. I just take all advertising with a grain of salt. Research your product and buy what suits you.

  9. Smithville Lake is about a 20 mile drive and I store my boat about a mile and a half from a ramp there. Smaller lakes are about 45 minutes from home. Truman Lake is two to three hours away depending on if I put in on the West end or the East end. I also have access to a pond that is about 35 minutes away.
  10. Great report, George! I really like the colors on that fish. Beautiful.
  11. Your PB will go up quickly. Glad to see you're catching 'em.

  13. I have all of the Alice in Chains catalog and I would love to see them touch the artistry of "Facelift" and "Dirt" again. I tend to listen to highly technical musicians and, while Jerry Cantrell and company aren't at that level, they have always been a band that I love just because the music appeals to me. I think they touch that psychedelic side of myself that I never left behind. This song isn't bad, but at seven minutes, I think Jerry could have done more with the guitar than just repeat the same riffs throughout the song. It would have made the seven minutes more interesting. The signature harmonies are still there because half of the dynamic duo of Staley and Cantrell is still singing. IMO, Alice In Chains is the best band from the grunge era, although Soundgarden rattled my chains as well. Has anyone heard the whole album? Edit: Oh, I see the album isn't being released until September 29th.
  14. The more members we get, the more often we will see this. If 1 out of 10 people are total a-holes, with a membership of 23,300 we would have 2330 of these wonderful people. Obviously, I don't know the actual percentage of problem children there are, but if you think about it, in a city of 23,000 just about every type of crime occurs at one time or another. This is my favorite site on the net, but it doesn't make our membership immune to societal problems.
  15. Amazing. I can't believe I didn't notice this was the 2010 road trip thread until today. Because of the number of posts I assumed this was an old road trip thread. Work has kept me away the last couple of years, but I will be there. I don't know if I'll bring my boat but no way am I missing out this time around. I'm going to put in for the vacation time now. Once I make reservations I'll post up if anyone needs to share a cabin.
  16. Oh...Don't be a sourpuss, people are just having fun. Next time we get together, I'm fishing with you and I'll be a Flooger Guy or a Cabela's Guy or whatever brand YOU are fishing. I hope you make it out here for the Roadtrip. 8-) Make it out where? Has there been a posting about next year's road trip? If so, direct me to the thread, oh wise moderator. Nevermind. How did I miss that. It had so many posts I just assumed it was for last year's road trip.
  17. Thanks for the info, Glenn! There's definitely a couple of items here that pique my interest.
