  1. I use a Dobyns champ XP 705cb for shallow cranking. For medium and deeper divers I use the irod Fred's crank launcher. Love both equally.
  2. Never had much success with Gill swim baits here in FL myself. But for some reason bluegill patterns on cranks and swim jigs work great. Small, live gills also work good. Shad and golden shiner patterns are my go to though.
  3. Because all I ever catch are dinks!
  4. I found a floater once on Kissimmee with another bass stuck in it's gullet just a bit smaller then it was.
  5. I use the 4" almost exclusively for my jig trailer when flipping. The 5" and the crazy legs for pitching T-rigged. I love these things and they definitely hold on to them longer I think. Pretty durable body but the claws do rip off easier. I just scored a deal on eBay last week on some. A lot of 10 bags in black/blue flake color for $22 shipped!
  6. I haven't met a baitcaster I couldn't spool on a cast! ??
  7. Dude, I just posted pics of my new 2018 endurance rod right above. They are back....
  8. Pay a mechanic to check it out. In my area it usually only runs about $50-80. If you are mechanically inclined then focus on the major things like the outboard, transom, wiring and rust. The smaller stuff like bearings and other maintenance shouldn't scare you away if it's structurally sound. And at the end of your inspection be sure to incorporate any cost to repair whatever is wrong with it into the asking price of the boat.
  9. Wish I had something to post here but I live in Florida ?
  10. Drive as far as possible. Then jeans, long sleeves, high rubber boots, Off bug spray and a Glock 20 10mm at my side. Too many black bears and panthers here in S central FL.
  11. This is what I've always done in the rare situation where this comes up. Most of the time they'll even make small talk with me about how they're doing.
  12. @Burros For many years that's all I used exclusively. Here lately I've found myself with more and more Powell's in the boat though. They fish way above their price point imo. I just picked up a 795 Max 3D brand new on Craigslist for $75 too!
  13. Always nice to come home to a TW package after a long Friday. My new Powell endurance 8ft punching stick and Concept with matching accents. I am in love with this one. Rod is so light yet still a beast! Perfect tip, not too stiff. Got rid of my 8ft Champion XPs cuz they were too heavy/clunky.
  14. Mine usually walks only when I'm over trimmed.
  15. It just depends on the individual child imo. Some are just not going to be into it no matter what. I myself started around 4 yrs old for bluegill. My son was late to show interest in it. He started around 7 as my full time partner. Just get them out there and take it day by day, don't force anything. And always make it as fun as possible for them. Good luck
  16. Find the thickest, nastiest cover (vegetation) you can find and get after it.
  17. Fished both days with minimal success. Bunch of dinks scattered here and there. Feels like we fished every inch of that lake and nothing! Hot as could be too. I'm officially done with that place. Making the little longer drive to Okee from now on.
  18. I'll be out there first thing tomorrow. I'm not that confident I'll catch much but we'll see.
  19. Why limit yourself when there are so many great options on the market these days. I use to be brand loyal but like to try out different things now . . . . Even a Shimano!
  20. They've been bedding on Istokpoga and Okee on and off since late Dec.
  21. I've caught them with catfish like that before here in FL. That's when I started buying the Hudd 68s. I am a firm believer that is what they think they are, small catfish. They work..
