  1. WW, how weedless are those Tour Grades. All my home lakes and ponds have milfoil or elodea. It seems only bullet shaped noses have worked for me. Thanks, Hookset on 3
  2. How are you rigging them? When I wacky rig Senkos I use O-rings and get more than a few fish outta 1 worm more often than not. I use the o-rings too. It's just when I tex-pose them, they get chewed up quick.
  3. Guys, thnx for all of the responses. Lots of good info and some new tricks to try out. I wish I had stock in Zman-don't they hold the patent for 3x plastics?
  4. Fin, yeah I've been using them in 09 and they are great. They are more durable than Senkos. I just wanted to take the next step in durability and Ive read the ElazTech material is tough stuff. Thanks, Hookset on 3
  5. Nemesis, those eels are spot on tadpole match, maybe in green pumpkin. Thanks, Hookset on 3
  6. Crastliner, maybe I'll pick up a few Dancin Eels and we'll try them out on the Connecticut River or Quabbin Resevior!
  7. Good Doctor, those look great. Thanks.
  8. Hi Dan, where'd you hear that? I don't remember. It was something about a coating or slime they have on them that tastes bad to bass but who really knows? Yup,that's got to be it. Hook
  9. Elite Image Fishing, Thatis the most heart felt post I've read. With Christmas last week and all, it really hit me. I have two teenage sons that like to fish with their dad. Hookset
  10. Hi Dan, where'd you hear that?
  11. How does the drop and shimmy compare to other soft stick baits? I like the Kinami Flash and Yamamoto Senko but we all know that one to three bass and they're pretty shredded.
  12. My home lake has tons of 3or4 inch tadpoles. What soft plastic would match the hatch? Keep in mind they have a large head that tapers back to a thin tail? Grub or goby maybe? Thanks and Happy New Year BR members. Hookset on 3
  13. Hi Ken, RW's advice is great. I would be interested in seeing a list and pricing for your new or like new lures. Hookset on 3
  14. Hello Opie, Check out this weedless wieghted sled head from Buckeye Lures. I use them to rig either a Berkley Hollow Belly swimbait or a Strike-King Shadalicious swimbait. It's a great way to deep slow-roll a soft paddletail swimbait. Good Luck, Hookset on 3
  15. I like the Black Angel Finesse jig with an Uncle Josh Finesse Phantom Frog. Hookset on 3 http://www.unclejosh.com/unclejosh/modules/cart/products.php/nav_id/1/page/1/id/8/name/PhantomFinesseCraw http://www.***.com/descpageBAJIG-BKANFIJ.html#pImage
  16. The 6 inch Slug-go is about as good as it gets for big fish. Zoom Super Fluke 5 inch for quantity. Hookset
  17. Roger, those Outcasts are sweet. If you get a chance check out the Grass Stalker Jig by Bass Stalker. They are right up your alley.http://www.unclejosh.com/bassstalker/modules/cart/products.php/nav_id/72/page/1/id/114/name/RattlinGrassStalkers
  18. Great job John C. That fish is immense! Go Rhody.
  19. Paul, I've been pond hopping since the 1970's. I've had the pleasure of hitting many virgin ponds. The first few visits are magical and then the inevitable happens. The bass wise up and it becomes incrementally harder using artificals.
  20. Hello Rhino, looks like the smallmouth are pumped up for the cooler water temps. What was the water temp. showing? Let's get together for a day of ol' bronzebacks. Hookset
  21. Nice chunks! great coloration in those bass. Well, you lit the fire in me to break out the big stuff. We've got a full moon on the 4th, tomorrow and it's hawg huntin time. Hookset
  22. you know i'm right there with ya koopa...duckweed & a SPRO baby!! Nice haul there CWB...crappier the weather the better for me...when it rains/storms...i'm right in it and always nail a bunch...those steady warm summer rains here, when there is no lightning etc...oh man thats heaven fishin to me 8-) I couldn't agree more hide pounder! I keep daily logs of conditions, lures used fish caught, etc. Give me the nasty weather any day for numbers and size of bass. CWB, first off, Stooge fan- gotta love it. Second, those are beautiful photos. Third, other than your lunker, the fish seemed underfed. Looks like my home lake bass where there are no shad, craws or minnows. the bass can dine on white or yellow perch and various sunfish
  23. Crest, that is a great idea! I fish out of a car-top 13ft one man canoe in small lakes and ponds in Massachusetts and Rhode island. I'm gettin' my line ready. Thanks for the ol' yankee ingenuity, Hookset on 3
  24. Attention all bait monkey junkies: Dick's has all Berkley and Strike-King lures 20% off. Also, in the bargain bin some of the Strike-King discontinued soft plastics were going for, Get this, .68 cents a bag. They had the Shaw Grigsby line of craws, stickbaits, lizards etc. in the bin. Good Luck! Hookset
