The Slug-go. In its day ( early nineties) this was the soft jerk-bait. Slug-go's where on the top tray off many skinny water bassers. At six inches long, this was a big fish bait for sure. Well then a soft drop bait came on the scene and the furor over the Senko has reduced the the Slug-go to backrooms or a few diehard fans. Occasionally a fisherman may stumble upon it or a fishin' buddy will slide you a few to try out. Hookset on 3

So today, Fishing Rhino and I got out on his home lake. I'd say considering we'll likely see some flakes falling before the end of March, even a hit would feel good. Well we dragged some jigs on the first breakline (4 to 6 ft.) and scored some nice bass. Rhino caught two 2 1/2 pounders,which for you southern guys would equal say a 4 or 5 lb. bass. a little later he reeled in a 4 1/2 chunk.Nice! Later in the afternoon-3:00- I put on a River2Sea Cranky M crankbait. I used a pull and pause retrive then caught a good size pickerel, followed buy a bass that went maybe 3lbs. Water temp started at around 45 deg. and later on topped off at 49. All in all for late winter I will gladly take it.

nick. I fish them also and the catch plenty of bass. On a side note: try some of their craw bugs on the back of those jigs. the claws float up in a defensive posture. KILLER!

V & M baits have some great floating worms, craws, creatures etc. They are made with pork fat cooked in and anise Scent. Killer lures. I buy them from Tackle Warehouse

I believe barometric pressure is a variable along with temps. If it is a high sky then topwater is less effective. Low pressure and low clouds, much better results.

LeeMD, it depends, for smaller senkos or wacky rigs in windy conditions- spinning. Tex- posed rig with larger diameter hook like an Owner J hook 3/0, baitcaster with 10 or 12 lb test- baitcaster. For wacky rigging, try some rubber O rings. A good hook for texas would be the new Owner slim Twistlock Light.

Take an original floating #11 and wRAP some soldering wire around the treble hook shank. this makes it suspend in about 3 ft. Killer!
