  1. I would spend the day fishing in the ponds at The Masters Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. I hear they are stocked with Florida strain and the golf pros get to fish them on Monday of Masters Week.
  2. I use an "open gap" hook by Owner that really sticks 'em. In addition, it has a bait holding coil spring built around the hook eye to keep the soft plastic from sliding down the shank.
  3. That's a winning combo their. Your larger fish is proof that you have found the deeper bite, but like everyone else, it takes discipline to stay away from the shoreline. Great Job!
  4. Absolutely! this is such a welcome relief from the brutal mid-summer heat. By the way, the fishing has really turned on here in New England, with the cloud cover and daytime temps. only in the 60's. hookset
  5. my thoughts exactly. Cover a lot of water. Bass are gorging in the fall.
  6. Swim Fluke, Swim Senko or small soft swimbait. Rig it up with either or these Owner hooks.
  7. For a more subtle approach, try the swim jig in 1/4 or 3/8 oz. Fish it like a spinnerbait w/o blades. I like to nick the grass for more reaction strikes.
  8. Congratulations on the lunker of a lifetime from another Northener.. At that latitude, she was def. a one in a million fish.
  9. Hey, you did the right thing. Good going and nice bass, too.
  10. Find the fish, present the best lure for the conditions. = 10
  11. "weeds...fish...dink...OMG its a hawg. It all depends. upon release I usually say "see ya" like Mr. Dance.
  12. Shane, what color and clarity would you describe the area you were fishing. I find junebug works best in dingy water if it is sunny or low light in clearer water. Thanks, Hookset on 3
  13. Good Pattern. Instead of driving over and spooking the bass, you hit them on the way into the cove. I have to force myself to do that more often, because I know the better fish will be holding on the deeper weed edges. Nice going.
  14. Probably Kevin Short. About my age, funny, cool and a backwater crankster. Yup. 8-)
  15. For all the T-rig newbies, save this as a fav. Refer back to this often. Excellent and well thought out, SJB.
  16. I like either a good heavy grass jig from All-Terrain or a Yum Wooly Bug pegged with a Tru-Tungsten bullet sinker and a TT Force Bead. The hook I have the best success with is an Owner TwistLock spring on shank 3X model #5136.
  17. Burce in CT, I've fished in Connecticut for many years, I gotta tell ya, that is a trophy size bass for New England. great job landing that from shore. That takes some skill, man. hookset, next door in Rhode Island
  18. THAT'S why we go fishin'. If you have to try and explain it to someone, they don't understand. But that is OK, because late in life,it will be scences like those days that will be etched in your memory. Good for the soul.
  19. Looks like you could have put your noggin inside that giant bass' mouth. Now you know how they got their name. Super catch!
  20. Big-O, your killin' me with those Texas Hawgs! By the way, I just saw that video you guys made of the Eeliminator swimming along. Dude, that is just WRONG!!
  21. T I bet that hit got your attention! Nice, man. Those Swiss bass are really specimens, I'll tell ya.
  22. Paul, I bet you day dreamed that bass bonanza many times over those long CO winters. Cool stuff1
  23. Try an Outkast Swimjig. vary the retrieve until the bass tell you what they hit.
  24. Here is a handy article from Bass Resource, that provides some pointers. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/world-record-bass-10.html
