  1. During spawn, what’s your most productive strategy? Fish for pre-spawn bass ?
  2. Any of y'all ever been in the situation where bass are chasing shad everywhere you look but you can't get a bite no matter what you throw? I came the conclusion years ago it's because my lure doesn't act right.
  3. Gene Larew 6" Hawg Craws! IDK what attracts bass to that ugly no action piece of plastic. I just know they do ? Quite a few double digits on them, both Texas Rigged & as a Jig-n-Craw.
  4. I might have an addiction problem.... Boss you way beyond might have!
  5. How do I manage information on fishing? Looking at resent results...Poorly!
  6. First I didn't even know how to take a selfie until recently. Second if it ain't 6+ I ain't taking a picture.
  7. Couple weeks ago when I got home the wife asked how I did, I said skunked. She replied you got to practice casting, I said I need practice setting hook!
  8. I fish shallow water marshes (2-3'), I don't need a depth finder. This time of the year the grass is down making boat trails impossible to see, GPS is nice.
  9. Every second spent in unproductive water is time spent practicing casting. Just kidding! There's a chip in the depth finder that shows these little fish images going round & round.
  10. I have a Hack Attack Fluorocarbon jig tied on 24/7/365. I flip, pitch, cast, swim, & do light punching with it. I do have a 1/2 dozen Santone Lures Chris McCall Rayburn Swim Jigs. I just don't see an advantage to having a specialized jig.
  11. how long could you go...... Don't wanna know ?
  12. We are talking about getting permission from people who live in rural areas...they're already social distancing! Be kind...be courteous...be respectful
  13. I disagree ? After 2 hurricanes residents here were inundated with contractors of all crafts. Most people I know hired contractors who were willing to contact them in person. You gonna track me on social media, Google me to find my personal information. The answer will be FU! Man up! I wanna look you in the eyes, I wanna read your facial expressions.
  14. Uhh! I went on a 4 day cruise, does that count?
  15. It was a G. Loomis, don't recall the model. When I retired for the Aerospace Industry I went to work for Academy. I took a District Manager on the river fishing. He got a spinnerbait hung in a cypress tree & was yanking trying to get it free. What he didn't realize was that big red thing a couple branches over was a hornet's nest. I cut his line cranked the outboard. In the confusion he stepped on my worm rod. He said he would buy any rod I wanted. I picked a Shimano Crucial CRC-X610MH 6' 10" Medium Heavy X-Fast. By far the most sensitive worm rod I ever owned. I returned the broken G Loomis for another. Went to the lake on Friday & returned it on Monday for another identical Crucial.
  16. I've been fishing the tidal marshes around the Sabine river where the Elite series is held. This is probably the most difficult fishing there is. We deal with all the issues associated with pre-spawn, then throw in a tide & some salt. Jason Christie won by running as far north as he could to get away from it!
  17. As good as Gary Loomis is at building rods I don't need him telling me what I like in a crankbait rod. I've brought a rod on Friday heading to the lake & returned it Monday.
  18. A Redfish's gill plate will cut even braid.
  19. Why is my rod not considered a cranking rod? Cause you didn't tell it was! What makes up a crankbait rod is personal preference...period.
  20. I have two ? Don't why they quit making em.
  21. That's my opinion as well In my opinion there is no "factor", "condition" that can be singled out. It's a combination of all em! Like @A-Jay mentioned weather has a huge effect on the bass & me.
  22. When Rage Bug is mentioned most think big rod, big line, big weight, & big hooks. The Baby Bug gives you a "finesse" presentation to complement the bigger bugs. It swims nice ?
