First learn your body of water! When I go to Toledo Bend I don't have waste time looking for structure, I know where it is. I just have to fish it efficiently!

While many manufacturers claim to make a "modified vee" hull when in reality its a flat bottom with a modified nose (bow). Look at the bottom of the transom, you should see how much deadrise there is. Your problem maybe the hull is to flat, gauge is too thin, ribs not sturdy & not enough of them. Excessive hull vibration in the earlier Trackers caused loose rivets or cracked welds. That's a dumb Cajun's opinion

Sitting in 18' of water casting to an outside weedline, wasn't getting bit, worked to jig all the way to the boat, bounced it up/down under boat & caught the top one. Dropped the straight down & caught the second one.

I will pull my hat brim down over my sunglasses, pick up my worm rod, put the trolling motor on medium, & start flipping, pitching, & casting at everything I see in the water. My confidence is in a Texas Rig, yours maybe a spinnerbait, squarebill, or something else. This is the time ya wanna fish your strengths! Keep in mind sometimes ya just get skunked!!

Aluminum center console Higher sides for kids safety, makes the wife happier. If you can find one with no casting decks that would be preferred. I fish 3 adults out of a Alweld 1652 but that's 3 that know what they're doing. With 3 kids you ain't gonna be doing much fishing.

How does one determine if bass are inactive? Just because you don't get bit doesn't prove anything other than you were doing the wrong things at the wrong time & in the wrong place. My personal opinion, high water scatters the bass.

Well that was fun! Saw one weighed in right at 10# & couple 7#. Love listening to all the dock talk! 3-4 standing around saying the spawn is over & all the fish back offshore. ROFLMAO! I caught 3 right at their feet from the bank!

Lonnie Stanley made a deal with Mustard to create first needle point round bend hook which Lonnie used in his jigs, spinnerbaits, & even a worm hooks. I still use that worm hook today.

Straight shank round bends do. As far offset it depends on the manufacturer, some have no gap like an EWG. I choose round bends because sometimes when you set hook the worm doubles clogging the bend with plastic. I find straight shanks easier to rig straight but that maybe because of 6 decades of practice.

Don't remember whose video it was but the subject of snelling a hook came up. One of the guest was a marine biologist & he posed this question. When a bass inhales a 6-7" shad or 4-5" bluegill do y'all believe it's just swimming around in there? I'm fairly confident it's pinned to the roof of the mouth with enough force it ain't moving. And yes they do on occoaison "mouth" their food. If snelling gives you an once of confidence then by all means use it.
