  2. Give me light & variable 5-8 with no gust. Preferenable southern
  3. I don't care what y'all say the wind ain't my friend! For about a month now our winds have been 20-30 mph sustained. I'm bank fishing & it's blowing the exact direction I wanna cast towards!

Zoom's Ultravibe Speed Worm Watermelon Neon Tail dipped in chartreuse garlic Mustad's 3/0 straight shank round bend 1/8, 3/16, or 1/4 oz bullet weight Swim it, drag it, short stroke it, flip it, pitch it, cast it. Bank shallow or deepwater Winter, spring, summer, or fall Morning, noon, or night This is what I start with & adjust from there.
  5. How long to you stick with a lure / technique before switching? Long time ? Been throwing a Texas Rigged worm for 60 yrs, spinnerbaits to.
  6. 70 years young, retired master carpenter, A/P licensed aerospace mechanic, & ASE certified auto mechanic. All 3 physically demanding resulting in ruptured discs, torn ligaments, arthritis, bursitis, calcium deposits, bone spurs, & 2 recently installed stints. I stay as active as possible but it a constant movement from sitting, standing, & laying down.

One highly overlooked jig color & craw worm color is Black Neon. Black with red metal flake! I throw it in jigs, craw worms, worms, creatures, & lizards.
  8. Yes but what I lose in abrasion resistance ain't worth it. I've thrown 12# in saltwater for Specks but the Redfish snap it easily. Like @Captain Phil mentioned a bass can't break 15# but a Bull Red definitely can.

    They all red! ?
  10. 15# Big Game for everything but punching! My hookup ratio is in the upper 90 percentile range so I do not believe the stretch associated with mono effects my hookup ratio any. The abrasion resistance & shock absorption of Big Game is unmatched by any. I've fished braided Cotton, Dacron, Micron, Suture Material (Silk), Micro Dyneema®, Kevlar, & Spectra.
  11. Why ain't it? ? Flipping-n-pitching are forms of casting just like roll cast or overhead cast or sidearm cast. When I'm fishing I'm using em all
  12. Reasons I don't fish alone!
  13. I only fish on days that end in y! Berkley Big Game 15# will get r done! Ya ain't thrown a spinnerbait until you've thrown Stanley! Keep a Texas Rig & a Jig-n-Craw tied on 24/7/365! The night time is the right time!

Rage Craw comes in 40 different colors, they have all caught bass for someone. That's why the sell em!
  15. A dead body ? Seriously! Was a teenager, the body had been under water for 4 days. Well let me clarify, I don't catch the body, it was caught on a trotline, & I found it. That's a image I'll never get out my head.
  16. Don't forget Suzuki & Yamaha! What puzzles me is the cost, Suzuki & Yamaha are the highest. If you ain't got a jon boat in your yard, your neighbors will look at you strange. A lot of availability has to do with the market. Jon boats are everywhere around here both new & used.
  17. But that goes against everything we were taught. I live in southwest Louisiana & a lot of what's taught about fishing offcolored water makes me scratch my head!
  18. I don't mind fishing alone or with someone. I actually prefer sharing life's memories with friends & family. 2022 has taught me, i better bring someone for two reasons. I lost a close fishing buddy right before pre-spawn started making it extremely difficult knowing I can't share the excitement with him this year. Second a minor heart issues says it's time to quit going it alone.
  19. I fish out of a Alweld 1652VJT, Marsh RD series tunnel hull with a 40 hp Tahotsu. This is an overhead view of the tiller layout.
  20. 6th Sense Ridge Worm
  21. Nuthin! ? Another plus for using Hack Attack Fluorocarbon Jig
  22. Bill Lewis Tiny Trap ?
  23. @MN Fisher The 30-40 hp Tahotsu is a Honda I just gotta find the link. If you notice the articles mentioned 2.5-20 hp, then 60 hp & up. I went through all this research when I bought my first 40 hp Tahotsu in 2014 & my second one in 2020 or 21. Used boats down here sale fairly reasonable. My son bought this one for $3,600.
