  2. Strike King's Hack Attack Fluorocarbon Flipping Jig
  3. Fluorocarbon was touted as being invisible to fish, come to find out it ain't. Fluorocarbon was touted as having less stretch than monofilament, come to find out that ain't necessarily true. Fluorocarbon was touted as being more abrasion resistant than monofilament, it ain't. Fluorocarbon was touted as having better knot strength than monofilament, it doesn't. Fluorocarbon was touted as having less memory than monofilament, that ain't true either. Sounds a lot like a sales pitch to me!
  4. My wife asked what was so funny so I let her read it, she smiled & said it would have cost me more than $100.
  5. My wife would have taken the $100 & still put it on Facebook!
  6. Most important to me; rod, reel, & line You can be at the right place at the right time with the wrong lure & still get bit.
  7. So Y'all Want To Learn Toledo Bend? 380 pgs, 9.5k replies, 1.4m views Just because I tell you where I'm fishing does not mean you know what to do when you get there. And it certainly doesn't mean the conditions will be the same. FYI: If I know what your boat looks like I know where you're fishing.
  8. Braid for frogging, punching, & deepwater structure. Berkley Big Game for everything else. Fluorocarbon I'll never spend a penny on this again.

It has been said the blue can be seen deeper than any color.
  10. Thank y'all again for the support! I was thoroughly checked out by EMTs, everything is fine other than heart rate was through the roof. Completely aggravated, we loved that little car. 2012 Volkswagen Jetta Sportswagon turbo charged diesel, 35 mpg in town 55 mpg hwy.
  11. On my way to the bank in my wife's little car when I got T-boned!

When I throw a black-n-blue jig the trailer will be sapphire blue! Sapphire blue lizard is deadly during pre-spawn/spawn. Lot of anglers throw white when bed fishing, I throw sapphire blue. Shhhhh! ?
  13. Aids in Structure Fishing When marking a GPS location one must keep in mind depending on current weather conditions & lake level (if applicable) the bass may not be at that exact GPS location. I'm still catching fish on structure that found 50 years ago. Notice I said "structure", not GPS location. We have to spend time graphing the entire piece of structure & memorize the entire thing. Dang Catt that's gonna take a lot of time! Yeah you right but when they move I gotta pretty good idea which way the went. All this technology is great & I love it but I don't need. Some gonna tell you if you don't have it you will not be able to complete. I don't plan on entering the Elite series this year.
  14. 52 yrs staring at the bottom of Toledo Bend mostly at night I guarentee ya I can put ya on that stump as fast as GPS. Now when finding new locations i do have GPS capable graphs...I ain't that stupid!
  15. In my thread on Toledo Bend I've had guys show me a screen shot of their depth finder & I tell where they are at.
  16. Then you're not very good at reading structure! Been using just a depth finder for 50 years to find the same structure over & over.

  19. How many jig rods do I own? 3 How many jig rods do I carry with me or have out on the deck? Depending on time of the year & body of water, usually 1, sometimes 2. I have a "light" jig rod that I throw 1/4-1/2 oz jigs around light to sparce cover. I have a "medium" jig rod that I throw 3/8-3/4 oz jigs around heavier cover & deeper water. I have a "heavy" jig rod that I throw 3/4-1.5 oz jigs when punching or depths to 35'. I flip, pitch, cast, skip, swim with one rod & one jig.
  20. If it ain't bass it doesn't count! There was a time back in my prime.. Many times I've waded marshes with alligators 10 yards away. I've fished in sleet, we had to stick our rod in the water & shake it to get the ice out of the guides. Now the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak!
  21. Possum Kingdom is near by & then there's several around the Metromess including Lake Fork.
  22. One of the ponds we fish has limited access since hurricane Laura. It's about a hundred yards through brush, briers, & laydowns. I decided this morning, I got this! One laydown I had to climb up & over. Standing on top I thought that wasn't bad. Right foot slipped fell backwards into a brier patch, hurt my right foot, left knee (bad), left hip, left elbow, & cracked my phone screen. But I didn't get skunked! Caught three with one over 4# What we put up with to catch a bass!
