  1. Bling does not apply! ?
  2. Search on YouTube for Larry Nixon fishing, watch his videos on fishing plastics regardless of how old...WATCH EM! You're welcome! ?
  3. I'll refer back to my days in the aerospace industry. Form, Fit, and Function is the identification and description of characteristics of a part or assembly. Each defines a specific aspect of the part to help engineers match parts to needs.
  4. Highly overlooked swim baits Can't tell ya if they float or not, never tried!
  5. @TnRiver46 Man after my heart! One problem dude ya ain't gotta enough! Here ya go ? Build ya a low fire on your BBQ pit, place a large aluminum cookie sheet or I use an aluminum oven liner. Season your shrimp with your favorite seasoning. Place on aluminum sheet, pour some Wish-Bone's classic Italian dressing, let simmer until done. Throw some of your favorite fish filets on there...c'est ce bon!
  6. Exactly ? It's pretty much like color, I pick one, thread it on a hook, & chunk it. The bass either say; pretty dang good choice Catt, or ROFLMAO! Some days it creature baits, lizards or craw worms.
  7. Sulphur High School Team
  8. Mine's parted down the middle to! In the 60s-80s my hair was to the middle of my back & my beard would make Phil Robertson jealous!
  9. Nahh! That would be throwing Bass Assassin's 7.5" Tapout Worm instead of a Trick Worm.
  10. What colors catch YOU? Black-n-blue & Watermelon Neon! Every type of plastic I own have at least this two colors. Black Neon is probably 3rd, Junebug Blue claw/tail 4th, Falcon Lake Craw 5th.
  11. Instead of Wacky Rigging I Texas Rig a Trick Worm weightless & add nail weight about 3/8" to tail. It will fall flat/horizontal, Twich it like a Fluke, let it free fall in timber or on a grassline, or drag/hop it on the bottom.
  12. C'est Fini! ?
  13. Texas Rig ? I hate gut hooking fish & a Wacky Rig gut hook more fish than a Texas Rig.
  14. Complete: adjective having all the necessary or appropriate parts. Notice it says "necessary or approciate" parts not required. The #1 key to consistently catching bass is between your ears not between the folds of your wallet.
  15. How many different types of rods are required to be a complete fisherman? For the Elite Bassman only Still ain't seen a official list of required rod types to become a "complete" fisherman! One can be a complete fisherman & not be a professional angler.
  16. Jig-n-Craw Texas Rig Rat-L-Trap
  17. I've never taken a selfie & until last year I don't know how to! For 17 years 10-12 hours a day a computer was a big part of my life. Since I retired I keep up with technology but don't feel a need to own it.
  18. I've been following Todd Driscoll's telemetry study on Toledo Bend. If I remember correctly 38% of the time when the boat passed directly overhead with trolling motor & electronics on the bass moved. Oddly though the rest you could get directly over them as shallow as 8' & catch em Dropshoting.
  19. Some of y'all sound like my wife, I set a budget & she immediately wants to up it. Personally I would buy a quality reel first because with proper maintenance it'll last a lifetime. Lew's Team Lite TLL1SH Gear ratio 7.5:1 weight 5.6 oz $240 Daiwa TATULA ® XT TXT711MHXB 7' 1" MH X-Fast $100 That setup will handle any thing from Neko Rigs to Jig-n-Craws.
  20. Excuse me but pop rivet are frowned upon in the aerospace industry. & are used in limited areas. Bolts, washers, nuts, & loctite is a better option & welded even better.
  21. Surface Preparation of Aluminum for Painting Sand paper: 80-100 grit Scotch-Brite Hand Pads: part # 7447 Conversion coating: acid etch primer/Alodine/Chemfilm Paint: automotive or marine grade polyurethane Paint Coating Stripper: Eldorado Solutions' DoradoTM Industrial Products part # 2021 or 5051 Steps 010: Clean the aluminum surface with a good cleaner using Scotch-Brite Hand Pads to remove all dirt, old paint and oxide from the surface. When sanding I prefer 80-100 grit it gives better tooth and paint adhesion. Sanding must be taken into the best previously adhered surface in order to have the new coat of paint hold properly. Start with an orbital sander; finish by hand with Scotch-Brite Hand Pads. Rinse thoroughly with clean water & let dry completely. 020: Apply a coat of acid etch primer following the mixing and application instructions to the letter. 030: Within 24 hours of applying the etch primer, apply the topcoat finish.
  22. For whatever reason when this discussion comes up some believe that if you're not catching double digits you ain't really a trophy hunter. If your body of water's record is 8# & you consistently catch 6-7# you are a trophy angler. I've caught 35 double digit bass but I've never caught a "teener", does that mean I'm not as good of an angler as someone who has caught a teener? Keep it real @Mobasser ?
  23. I never try to replace one with the other, I use them to complement each other. Other than not throwing a chatterbait around "wood" I fish them pretty much the same. I throw them both winter, spring, summer, or fall. Morning, noon, or night.
