I have a fair amount of Mustad's Denny Brauer Straight Shank Round Bend Flippin Hooks. Other than those Gamakatsu Black Round Bend Worm Hook

Been throwing straight shank round bend hooks since 70s, it ain't broke why y'all trying to fix it? I perfer traditional old school without the bait keeper, it tears up to much plastic. I want a hook that's between a punch hook & a finesse hook in diameter. And give me a needle point

After everything was said & done its stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, growing but not overly fast, there's 3-4 spots on my liver. Surgery is not possible, chemotherapy with limited radiation should contain & control it.

@padlin Our marshes average 2' deep & that's how I fish craws/worms. We just call it "speed" reeling; i use weights from 1/16-1/4 oz.

Still waiting to start chemotherapy I don't get it Mikey! I know where you're fishing & how you're fishing, it doesn't very that far from me. My biggest issue comes when casting, Flourcarbon backlashes way more than any line I've ever seen. IDK ☺️

I don't understand how y'all don't have problems 🤔 I've tried really hard to get used to Flourcarbon, I bought Tatsu & Shooter; worst lines I've ever owned. Unless it was newly spooled memory & coils were unbelievable requiring some kind of conditioner. Abrasion resistance wasn't anywhere near that of Big Game. Shock absorption was practically nonexistent due to the fact once stretched it doesn't return to its original shape. When Flipping-n-pitching it isn't as bad since you don't have much line out but my way of fishing requires casting.

You will notice less money in your wallet! If I am specifically fishing "swim jigs", then I will will tie one on. But through out the day if I encounter targets of opportunity I will swim any jig, flip it, pitch it, or cast it. How you think we learned about swimming jigs?

I seldom tex-pose a hook period, as matter of fact I seldom use a EWG hook. If you can't drive a hook through a peice plastic ya might wanna reconsider your hook setting technique.

Most anglers try forcing a t-rig through cove which is all wrong, you finesse it through cover.. When you feel the t-rig starting to load up...STOP! Release the pressure, pull up until you feel the heaviness again but apply slightly more pressure, the release, repeat until it breaks free (at this point ya wanna hold on real tight to your rod cause ya might get your arm broke). You want the motion to be similar to & as fast as working a shaky head, you're just appling more pressure. Worm selection is paramount, ribbon tails will hang on grass more than curl tails & straight tails hang even less.
