  1. Only time I've bought a reel based solely on looks!
  2. I went from Abu Gracia in the 60s/70s to Shimano in the 80s/2000s to Lew's in 2019. I one thing I did notice was Lew's takes more thumb input regardless of break settings. I don't like Diawa simply because of ergonomics. I don't like the way they feel in my hands. Once I match a reel to a rod it never comes off except for cleaning.
  3. That's where the fishing part comes in! It's called fishing not catching because we do a lot more fishing than catching.
  4. Establishing the depth is valuable information but is only part of what we need to establish. What's below & around them? Let's say they're at 20' Are they on the bottom? Are they suspended? Are they on a ledge? Are they on a creek channel swing? Are they on a ridge? Are they in timber, brush, grass? Answer these questions & we can start duplicating similar areas on maps.
  5. In most bodies of Hydrilla, Coontail, & Milfoil stops growing somewhere between 12'-18', 15'+/- 3'. This helps us understand where the outside "grassline" is. I ain't talking visible outside grassline but the one you have to find with your electronics. I start my searches here

  13. References to fishing over "grass" or "weeds" is taking about any submergent plants.
  14. Not knowing your bodies of water but yes it is possible.
  15. Change that to any offshore structures! And again that's where you start.
  16. I look at day or night time accuracy this way. Ya got two choices Reel it back in & cast again. Or work it back in. Unless you can physically see em or have FFS, we guessing anyway.
  17. Think about it 🤔 Since the 60s most homes had a telephone connected to a land line. How hard do you think it would be for someone to "tap" into that line? Ever seen a lineman in the middle of nowhere & wonder what he was doing? The Harwell Dekatron was the first working computer, it first ran in 1951. So yeah this just started 🤣
  18. Ma Bell was not only listening but recording you! They got in all kind of trouble for it but only after they gave the recordings to congress.
  19. Seriously ya think that just started? That's been going on for years even before the World Wide Web! Ever heard of Ma Bell
  20. Simple & effective 😉
  21. Who does? This is what the bottom of our lakes look like. Ya gonna hang up
